HOPE OF HOMESCHOOLING
The What, Why, Where, and How's
Laying the foundation for Christian education.
"The Great Commandment"
Christian education is not an alternative, a luxury, or even a good idea; it is the law of God. The following scriptures will encourage you about the MANDATE for Christian education.
Deuteronomy 6: 1-12, in its entirety, is the Great Commandment! However, we will examine four key elements of the following Scripture. "…And Thou shalt teach them diligently unto thou Children…." Everything is tied together here in a wonderful, life-changing-and even nation-changing –unity! The command is to love the Lord by putting His Word into our hearts, and the following scriptures tell us exactly how we may instill these Godly values, lifestyles, and ideals into our children and our children's children for generations to come.
Teach them diligently unto thy children…
How are we to do this? Loving the Lord!
"…and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up…"
When should this instruction begin? Start Early, Start Now!
God is faithful to answer this question as well. So Isaiah 28:9 says, "Whom shall He teach knowledge? And whom shall He make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts."
What's the proper way to teach my child? Simple, repetitious manner!
Isaiah 28:10, tell us, "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little."
Why raise my child Godly? Inherited promises of God!
Proverbs 22:6 states the importance of Godly raising our children: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
