Health and Safety Standards

My command is this:  Love each other as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.  John 15:13

1.  Do not come to BEECH Activities if you are sick or have sign/symptoms of COVID-19. (Please note, sick means sick - whether you think it is COVID or not. This includes allergy or flu symptoms.  If you are sick or someone in your household is sick or has signs/symptoms of COVID-19, then please do not come to an In-Person BEECH Activity - (Virtual Activities are fine).

2.  Do not come to BEECH Activities if someone in your household is SICK or has Signs/Symptoms of COVID-19.

3.  Do not come to BEECH Activities if you have reason to believe that you or a member of your household may have been exposed to or in contact with someone who is confirmed to have COVID-19

4.  If you or someone in your household is being TESTED for COVID-19, or if you have been around someone who is being TESTED for COVID-19, then do not come to BEECH Activities until you KNOW the RESULTS of that testing.  (And obviously, if the test results are positive then you will need to quarantine and not come to BEECH In-person Activities - please see the below section on COVID-19 Exposure).

5.  Check Temperatures of all Family Members before leaving for a BEECH Activity.  Leave yourself extra time in your schedule for the temperature check with a thermometer.  Make sure children have not had anything to drink in the last 20 minutes if you are using an oral thermometer.  If anyone in the household has a temperature over 99.6 F or 37.5 C or is experiencing CHILLS please do NOT come to the BEECH Activity.

6.  Seasonal Allergies - Because some of the symptoms of COVID-19 and seasonal allergies are similar, it may be difficult to tell the difference between them, and you may need to get a test to confirm your diagnosis.  You can have symptoms of both COVID-19 and seasonal allergies at the same time.  Therefore, if you are experiencing Seasonal Allergy Symptoms that are also COVID-19 symptoms - Please STAY HOME!

7.  Influenza - Flu season usually begins in October and runs through April.  Symptoms for Flu and COVID-19 are very similar which will lead to a complicated flu season this year.  As it may be difficult to tell the difference between Influenza and COVID-19 you may need to get a test to confirm your diagnosis of flu and to also confirm with a negative test for COVID-19.  You can have symptoms of BOTH COVID-19 and Flu at the same time.  You can also be INFECTED with FLU and COVID-19 at the same time.  Therefore, if you or a family member are experiencing ANY Influenza Symptoms - Please STAY HOME!  We do not want to spread the Flu or COVID-19!!  To be safe, since Flu symptoms and COVID-19 symptoms are so similar - please do not return to any Beech in-person activities for at least 15 days from the onset of symptoms and at least 96 hours (4 days) after the last symptom ended without the use of medication.  If your symptoms worsen, and it turns out you also had COVID-19 please follow the below guidelines regarding positive COVID-19 tests.

8.  If in doubt regarding any of the above, PLEASE stay home and contact a Board Member.   We would much rather thank you for being cautious and then tell you that it is ok for you to come to the activity than to have to send you home because you should not have been here.

9.  When at a BEECH Activity:

               A.  Wash your hands frequently. When possible, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (2 choruses of Happy Birthday) before rinsing. When it is not possible or practical to wash with soap and water, then use an alcohol-based (minimum of 60% alcohol) hand sanitizer to cleanse your hands.  Make sure you wash your hands well - remembering to use friction, and soaping/sanitizing ALL sides of your wrists, hands, and fingers.  Make sure you use a clean paper towel to turn the water on and off.

               B.  WEAR an appropriate MASK that covers your mouth and nose.  Please see the Beech Mask Policy.  COVID-19 transmission is dramatically reduced when both parties wear a proper mask and maintain 6 feet of social distance.

               C.  If you need to cough or sneeze, when possible, cough or sneeze into a tissue. Dispose of the tissue in a wastebasket. Wash or sanitize your hands afterward.  If no tissue is available, then cough or sneeze into the inner bend of your elbow. Do not cough or sneeze into your hands. Wash or sanitize your hands afterward.

               D.  Practice social distancing. You should remain at least 6 feet apart from anyone not a member of your household at all times.  Not everyone has good spatial awareness.  Please don't be offended if another member asks you NICELY to step away to maintain distance.

               E.  Sanitize your space and area frequently.  Members may want to bring disinfectant wipes, lysol, or other cleaners to wipe down areas where they may be playing, sitting, visiting or touring.

               F.  You might want a PACK to Bring with you to all BEECH Events:  This pack could include but is not limited to: Hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol), Tissues, Extra Masks in case one gets lost, dirty, torn, etc.  Bandages/First Aid Kit, Cleaning supplies like Lysol and Disinfectant wipes, pocket toilet seat covers.

               G.  Talk with your children and teens about the importance of following the Health and Safety Standards and make sure you explain what is expected of them.  Remind them to avoid touching their face, mouth, and nose.  Avoid handshaking, or having direct touch contact with non-household members.

               H.  Avoid touching high contact surfaces While at in-person activities, remind children and teens to avoid touching high contact touch areas whenever possible like doorknobs, sink handles, light switches, etc.

               I.  Watch your Children at Activities to make sure they are following the Health and Safety Standards.  Please don't put other members in the situation of having to correct or remind your children of appropriate behavior.

               J.  If you or a family member starts to feel sick at an activity:  Please quietly leave IMMEDIATELY.  Then please contact a Board Member and make them aware of the situation and review our COVID-19 exposure policies.

By clicking "YES, I/We agree and understand" below my spouse and I are digitally signing our name and acknowledging our agreement with, adherence to, and understanding of the COVID-19 Health and Safety Standards.

Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it,
I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.  Jeremiah 33:6

 COVID-19 Exposure Plan & Protocol

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord.  "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.  In those days when you pray, I will listen.  If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me."  Jeremiah 29:11-13

Should COVID-19 Strike: Should a BEECH MEMBER or their child either test positive for COVID-19 or be exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19, then the BEECH member should immediately notify a BEECH Board Member. During this conversation the BEECH Board Member  should please do the following:

1.  Get as much information regarding the potential exposure as possible. Questions should include:

§  Has the Beech Member her/himself been confirmed positive for COVID-19?

§  If the potential exposure is from being around a family member, friend, co-worker, associate, church member, etc., what is the level of contact?

§  When was the last time the member, their children or their family member was at a BEECH In-Person Activity and what was the BEECH Activity?

§  Was the BEECH member wearing a Mask (required) and exercising social distancing while he or she was at the BEECH activity?  Were they in prolonged or close contact with any specific members at the activity that we need to notify?

§  When was the Beech member tested for COVID-19 and when did he/she get the results?

§  When was the last time (the exact date) the Beech member was potentially exposed to someone with COVID-19? When was that potential exposure tested and when did that person get her/his results?

o   Get this information to the appropriate BEECH Board members as soon as possible.

§  Using the information you gather, we will make a decision regarding any closure or required notifications.

o  If a BEECH Member, their children or other family member becomes symptomatic at a BEECH activity, they are asked to leave the activity and notify the BEECH board immediately.  The member may need to get a COVID-19 test before attending another BEECH activity.

o  Please be aware that due to privacy considerations, unless we have a member's permission, we can not tell you who may have been exposed to COVID-19 or who may have exposed you to COVID-19.

               A.  We will inform members that they may have been exposed to COVID-19 at an activity without mentioning anyone's specific name.  COVID-19 is nothing shameful, and we don't want anyone to feel that way if they are exposed, as no one can truly control this virus but GOD, however, we do want to provide privacy where requested.

               B.  We also want to encourage our members to trust us so they can be honest in reporting any COVID-19 exposures without any fear.

               C.  Please understand we have a duty to our members to make them aware if they were potentially exposed to COVID-19, but we will maintain your privacy.

§  Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis and as stated above, will be based on the information gathered regarding the potential exposure.  Depending on the circumstances, we may need to consult with the Department of Health concerning exposures and any potentially needed contact-tracing.

o   Individuals who test positive for COVID-19, must NOT attend a BEECH In-person Activity for at least 15 days after any COVID-19 symptoms first appeared AND must also be Symptom-Free for at least 96 hours (4 days) without any medication intervention (example - NO fever-reducing medication).  That means if you still had a sore throat on day 13 AFTER your FIRST Symptom but were symptom-free on day 14 you can not attend a BEECH In-person Activity until Day 18.  You may attend virtual activities.  Approval from the Board is required prior to attending any BEECH In-Person Activity after a positive COVID-19 test.

Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 and wind up hospitalized due to the virus must NOT attend a BEECH In-person Activity for at least 15 days after any COVID-19 symptoms first appeared AND must also be Symptom-Free for at least 96 hours (4 days) without any medication intervention (example - NO fever-reducing medication) AND must also be past 21 days POST Hospitalization.   That means if you were hospitalized on Day 10 of symptoms first appearing and were in the hospital for 7 days so you were discharged on Day 17, and you were symptom-free on day 25 you would still need to wait till Day 39 before attending a BEECH In-Person Activity.  You may attend virtual activities.  Approval from the Board is required prior to attending any BEECH In-Person Activity after a positive COVID-19 test.

§  Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 and who NEVER had ANY COVID-19 symptoms and remain SYMPTOM-FREE may participate in BEECH in person Activities AFTER at least 15 days since the positive test was administered.  Approval from the Board is required prior to attending any BEECH In-Person Activity after a positive COVID-19 test.

o  Please note - any BEECH Member or Family member that tests positive MAY be required to have a Negative COVID-19 Test BEFORE attending an In-Person BEECH Activity.

o  Please be aware if you are asymptomatic and tested for COVID-19 very soon after exposure you may test negative.  Health professionals recommend that you get a second test a few days later, esp. if you become symptomatic.

o   Individuals who are exposed to someone who is confirmed to have COVID-19 must not attend any BEECH In-Person Activities for at least 15 days after the last exposure and must remain completely symptom-free during the 15 days after exposure before returning to In-Person BEECH Activities.  Please contact the Board for approval before attending an activity.

o   Members who are not able to attend in person BEECH Activities due to testing positive for COVID-19 or being exposed to COVID-19, may still participate in virtual BEECH Activities from home IF their health allows them to do so.

o   Any BEECH Member or family member who had to stay away from In-Person BEECH Activities due to a COVID-related issue, must get clearance from the BEECH Board before attending any In-Person BEECH Activities.

o  Due to the contagious nature of COVID-19, it is possible that at some point during the year someone in our community may be exposed to it or test positive for COVID-19 and potentially expose other members.  At that point, our priority will be to prevent an outbreak spreading from member to member so notifications and contact-tracing will be essential.

o   If all of us - BEECH Members, Leaders and Children -  carefully follow the protocols discussed in this Form (especially staying home when sick, practicing effective hand hygiene, wearing a face mask, and practicing social distancing), we greatly reduce the chance of being exposed to the virus while at BEECH In-Person Activities.

o Please understand these protocols are in place to PROTECT YOU & YOUR FAMILY.  These protocols are there to protect our membership from COVID-19 exposure as much as possible and to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 through our membership.  Your compliance and adherence to the Health and Safety Protocols is greatly appreciated.  We are also thankful for your grace and understanding during these difficult and complicated times.

Remember - if you want BEECH to continue to be able to provide In-Person Activities during the pandemic then EVERYONE needs to do their part to keep their neighbor (other BEECH Members) safe.  Please be considerate. Don't risk exposing another family if you are uncertain - just skip that activity and wait for the next one.  Some members have serious underlying health conditions like Diabetes, Autoimmune Disorders, Asthma, Hypertension, Heart conditions, Cancer, etc.  Pregnant or breastfeeding women are also high risk as are children with certain disabilities.  Some Beech Members are at higher risk due to their race or ethnicity.  Some Beech members are caring for elderly or medically fragile relatives.  While you may be able to weather COVID-19 with none to minimal symptoms - for another member or their family it could become a serious illness even leading to death.

By clicking "YES, I/We agree and understand" Both my spouse and I are digitally signing this form and acknowledging that we understand and agree that I, my spouse, child(ren) and family members will adhere to the terms, requirements, protocols and Health and Safety Standards, including what to do in case of a COVID-19 Exposure or Positive test,  listed in this document regarding COVID-19.

You are my place of safety and protection.  You are my God, in whom I trust.  Psalm 91:2

YES, I/We agree and understand
