FAQs

Q:

True North, who are we?

A:

We are an educational and social group for Rockford and the surrounding area's homeschoolers.

Q:

I understand that you are a homeschool group, but what do you actually do in your group?

A:

One of the great things about being part of a homeschool group is being with supportive people who understand your decision to homeschool! In our group, your child/ren have the opportunity to register and participate in classes, activities, and social outings/field trips. It's also a great opportunity to connect and socialize with other homeschooling families in our area.

Q:

Who can join True North?

A:

If you are a Rockford area homeschooling family, you can be a member. We offer a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment in which to connect with other homeschooling families.

Q:

When do you meet?

A:

During a traditional school year, we meet once a week, every Tuesday for classroom activities.

Q:

Are there age or grade restrictions in your group?

A:

While specific classes may cater to particular age ranges, our homeschool group is open to all grade levels.

Q:

Does your group have a religious affliliation?

A:

No, we are a secular group that welcomes families of all faiths, philosophies, and belief systems.

Q:

Can students attend classes or events alone?

A:

Although we recognize that many homeschooled children are mature for their age, we do require that a parent and/or guardian remain in attendance for the duration of any class or event.
