Mission

Our mission is to encourage, support, and build-up a community of Christian homeschool families.

Philosophy

  • We are a network of families united in our love for Christ and our calling to home educate our children.
  • We are not a Church; however, we are a ministry.  We cannot replace the function of a local church body.
  • We are comprised of families from various denominations and backgrounds.  We focus on common views, see Statement of Faith, rather than differences.
  • We are not a School. Co-op is designed to enhance rather than replace a family’s home education program.
  • We do not judge differing philosophies of education, curriculum, support mechanisms, etc. held by individual families.  We entrust these decisions to each family, providing support and guidance when requested.
  • Our policies and rules are for creating an environment of safety, respect and order.  We entrust each parent to cheerfully supervise their children accordingly.
  • We function as a co-operative effort.  As such, each family should be motivated by love to serve the Co-op and each other diligently and cheerfully.
  • We acknowledge that we all have limitations, weaknesses and blind spots.  We strive to build others up rather than tearing down. Ephesians 4:28, Proverbs 15:1.
  • Co-op leadership is a volunteer effort.  We are motivated by faith to serve Christ and a love for His body.  We are ever-growing, ever-striving, and we welcome insights, corrections, and suggestions, packaged in love and gentleness.
  • We will make every effort to live at peace with one another, Romans 12:18.
  • The Board has the authority to prayerfully remove anyone or any family from the group at any time and for any reason.
  • We recognize our greatest ministry is through Word and deed to the children placed into our care.  To the best of our ability, ALL decisions are made for the best interests of the children.

Statement of Faith

Revelations: A Fellowship of Homeschool Families Co-op is a Christian organization, but is not tied to any particular denomination.  We have multiple churched represented in our membership. We adhere to the following statements as unquestionable. All members must agree to teach in agreement with the Statement of Faith

As a Christian institution, we believe that the REVELATIONS Homeschool Group community deserves a transparent and clearly articulated response as explained by our conviction from God’s living Word, the Bible. The Statement of Faith is considered to be “non-denominational” and encompasses those truths which distinguish Christian believers from non-believers. There are many other precious truths taught in the Bible over which believers have differed in understanding. Therefore, this is not a statement of all that is important to believe, but of all that is essential to believe for Christian fellowship and unity. The heartbeat of this policy is grounded in the love and truth of Christian scripture. REVELATIONS strives for unity in being evangelistic in nature, collaborative in style, generous in spirit, exemplary in stewardship, and excellent in service. We believe:

  • The Holy Bible, defined exclusively as the Old and New Testaments and consisting of 66 books, is the only inspired and infallible Word of God, inerrant in the original autographs; it constitutes the divine and only rule of faith and practice; it is the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21; Revelation 22:18-19)

  • The God of the Bible is the only true God and there are no other gods; the Biblical God is the Creator of the world; He is holy, just, righteous, and perfect; He is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient; He had no beginning and has no end; He is one spirit being, existing eternally as three persons - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, I Corinthians 8:6)

  • The Jesus Christ of the Bible is God incarnate, which means God came to earth in the form of a man; He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin; He is, in the flesh, fully God and fully man, except without sin. (Luke 1:34-35; John 1:1-5, 14; I Corinthians 8:6; Hebrews 4:15)

  • All men were originally created in the image and likeness of God, but fell from perfection through disobedience, incurring both physical and spiritual death; all men are sinful in nature (born with a sin nature) and, therefore, under God’s condemnation (separated from God); man can only be reconciled to God through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:23)

  • Jesus Christ paid the penalty for sin through His death on the cross and His bodily resurrection from the dead. (Isaiah 64:6; John 3:16-17; Romans 6:23; I Corinthians 15:1-4)

  • Salvation is the free gift of God and not the result of our good works; it is provided through Jesus Christ to all those who repent and believe in Him, thus becoming children of God. (John 1:12; John 3:15-16; John 10:28; II Corinthians 5:8, 17, Ephesians 2:8-9; I John 5:13)

In addition, REVELATIONS is committed to unashamedly upholding the Biblical teachings that God created marriage between one biological man and one biological woman as a holy, sacred institution. We also uphold the sanctity of our sexuality as designed and assigned by God. As our culture continues down a path of messaging confusion and deception to our children and young adults, our desire is to teach our students the truth of God’s Word.

We are also committed to using wisdom in ensuring that REVELATIONS does not become a context for students to promote and advocate sinful living and lifestyles that are contrary to our Biblical worldview.

Leadership

The Board of Directors meets monthly and annually for prayer and planning. Annual meetings are always open to anyone who would like to attend, with prior notification and approval. The meeting date, time, and location are communicated through email. The Board prayerfully oversees every area of the Co-op together although each member has a specific role within the team.

Excelsior! Co-op, after operating successfully for 9 years, had a perpetually long waiting list. In March of 2016 they decided to gather all those on the list to see if any of them would like to start a new co-op. The result of that meeting was actually 2 co-ops forming. One in Boise called Faith, Hope & Love Co-op, and the other in Caldwell called Revelations Co-op.

Revelations began meeting as a co-op the following fall with 17 families at Caldwell First Baptist Church.
