About Us

Southeast Texas Educational Partnership is a 501c3 non-profit corporation with a mission to serve home/private school families as they make educational choices to meet the needs of each child. The goal is to partner with not only businesses and other ministries, but even local public and private schools or colleges to allow home school families to take advantage of the services and opportunities that they offer. We need each other. We can equip our children with the skills and information that will help them thrive by working together.

Lighthouse Home School Support, CHSEL, Lighthouse Home School Athletics and Cornerstone Bookstore are all programs that STEP has initiated in order to begin serving the educational needs of home and private school families as well as those who need assistance in transitioning between private and public schools.

If you would like to join us in this effort and have the passion and calling to assist others as they work to provide not only a good education for their children, but a loving and Godly environment in their homes, contact us.

STEP/Lighthouse Homeschool Support is the vision of two veteran homeschool moms with 17 children, including 14 college graduates, and over 50 years of homeschooling experience between them.

Veronica Pedraza has a B.S. in Mass Communications from Lamar University, and has homeschooled her 8 children since 1993.

Lori Carl has a B.Ed.in Secondary Education from Hardin-Simmons University, and has homeschooled her 9 children since 1992.

Stacy Richard, who joined Lori and Veronica in this ministry, has home-educated her children, guiding 6 through graduation and has a wealth of knowledge and experience from her over 19 years of homeschooling and working with homeschool families.

Together, they are the founding officers that make LHSS qualified to advise and encourage families in their own homeschool journey.
