Ladies' Lit Club!

A Book Club for High School Ladies!  

Club will meet on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday September - April, from 1-3pm!

How it will work:  A new book will be covered each month..  Members will need to read (or listen) to the halfway point by the 1st Tuesday of the month & then have it completed by the 3rd Tuesday of the month, coming ready to discuss at each of the club meetings.  Club members will take turns helping to lead a meeting, as they feel comfortable doing so.  Adult hosts will "get the ball rolling," but the goal is that discussion will be primarily student-led.  We realize it may take awhile to accomplish this, but it's the eventual goal!

Basic discussion questions will be provided the week prior to each club.  However, for those looking to use club as a springboard for a credit--there are study guides available for each book for those families that wish to use the book list as a lit credit at home.  We can direct you to the guides if you are interested in that (some are free, some are from a curriculum provider--all are relatively inexpensive).  **Study guides are NOT a part of the clubs on Tuesdays!!!  We just wanted to make the information available to those wanting to make book club dual-purpose :)

Register on Lansing Heart Calendar, cost will be $10 to cover snacks & supplies.

*There is a team of 3 moms who will be hosting this club, so parents are able to drop off their high schooler OR they can drive themself.  If a parent would like to attend to observe, you are always welcome!  If for some reason one of the regular hosts is unable to attend (sickness, etc), we will reach out to parents to see if someone else is able to attend that club meeting. 

We are hoping for somewhere between 6-12 teen ladies to participate, so that there are plenty to contribute to discussions, but still small enough to get to know each other well!  If there isn't enough interest for Ladies' Lit Club to happen, your funds will be retuned to you.  We will cap registration at 12, so you won't want to put off registering!

Club Dates:  9/2, 9/16, 10/7, 10/21, 11/4, 11/18, 12/2 (only 1 meeting in Dec), 1/6, 1/20, 2/3, 2/17, 3/3, 3/17, 4/7, 4/21.

** You must pre-register and pay the $10.00 class fee for your student under class/clubs registration.
