Class Day FAQ

Can I drop my children off at class day?

No, this is a co-op so parents must accompany their children. We cannot assume responsibility for your children. If you have a special circumstance, then you will need to make arrangements with another member of your family to be responsible for your children. Every child must have one responsible adult in the building at all times.

What if I have children who do not have a class that I need to be watching?

All children are expected to be in an assigned classroom while the family is on the premises. If they don’t have a class for any period, they can find a spot in the foyer or possibly an open classroom where they can bring their school assignments to work on or a book to read. Parents must supervise them. Students are not allowed in the parent room.

How often do I have to volunteer?

We need a parent from each family to serve in two periods. Every class needs to have at least two teachers. Please see the coordinator if you need help finding a class or job to serve in. We prefer that no parent volunteer for all four classes. It is important to have a break and chance to relax or take care of other items of business.

Can I change my child(ren)’s schedule?

Changes to your children’s schedule must be made prior to October 1st. Refunds will not be available for dropped classes as the teachers have already purchased their supplies for the number of students registered in their classes. Course fees will be due for any new classes added to your schedule.

What if my child does not like a class?

You may of course remove your child from any class that he/she does not like. Refunds will not be available for canceled classes as the teachers have already purchased their supplies for the number of students registered in their classes.

What is the Co-Op Fee?

A portion of the Co-Op Fee will be given to Grace Brethren as a love offering, and the remaining will be used for supplies and expenses necessary for class day operations. Our group and Co-op are entirely volunteer operated. There are no paid administrative or leadership positions.
