FAQs

HomeGrown Co-op

Q:

Does my child have to take all the assigned classes?

A:

Yes, we require every student to participate and take all the classes that are chosen for their grade level. By participating in all classes, we find that the students bond more quickly, and as a result foster friendships which we feel are as important as the educational experience.  We do make an exception for high school science.

Q:

Do I have to be a Christian or a member of a certain church to participate in the co-op?

A:

No, but we do require that you agree to comply with our Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct and sign both of those documents in order to join the co-op.

Q:

Is there a cost involved with joining the co-op?

A:

Yes. There is a yearly, family registration fee which goes to the church to help cover the cost of using the facilities. For new families, this fee is $125 and for returning families, the fee is $100.  This registration fee is non-refundable.

Each family will also be charged $20 due 9/1.  This will cover our website fees and cleaning supplies.

There are also individual class fees, which vary from class to class, and are used to purchase materials for the class. The fees are noted under each class when you register for them, and are paid as follows: 1/3 due 8/1, 1/3 due 9/1, and 1/3 due 10/1

Q:

Are parents required to participate in the co-op?

A:

Yes. Each family's designated home educator, who will be the parent bringing their children to co-op, will be assigned to participate in two classes. Most classes are taught as a team, so participation may include, but not be limited to, being a helper in a class, planning activities for future classes, as well as teaching a class.
