EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. is a community designed to enrich, enhance and empower home education in a nurturing Christian environment. We provide tools, resources, experiences, and services ranging from field trips to scholarships. To join please read the Membership Agreement form below, complete this online request and pay the Annual Registration.

EPIC HSN CLUB MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT

1.

Name

 

This club is established according to Article 12, Section 2 of the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Bylaws. The name of the club operated by EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. shall be the EPIC HSN CLUB.

2.

Mission and Purpose

 

The mission of the EPIC HSN CLUB is to enrich, enhance and empower home education in the community.

 

The specific purpose of this organization shall be to:

 

a.

encourage students to achieve academically through scholarships, programs and workshops.

 

b.

provide field trips, summer camps and other extra-curricular activities to extend experiences beyond the classroom.

 

c.

feature monthly topics to educate teachers and keep them up to date on trends in education.

 

d.

create a center equipped with a resource library, a teacher’s workroom, a science lab, computer lab, garden, as well as an indoor and outdoor play area

 

e.

empower parents to be on the front lines of their child’s education through programs.

3.

Membership and Dues

 

a.

Family membership shall be open to all families with students in grades Kindergarten to 12th grade.

 

b.

Annual dues, determined by the Board of Directors, will be cover the period of July1- June 30.

 

c.

Family membership dues will be determined per family and entitles members to the following privileges:

 

 

i.

Teacher Identification Card for Discounts with local service providers

 

 

ii.

One Complimentary Yearbook

 

 

iii.

Weekly Email Newsletters

 

 

iv.

Eligible for EPIC Scholarships

 

 

v.

Participation in the Annual Awards Ceremony

 

d.

Membership shall include all who pays annual dues to support the club’s purposes and agrees to follow the membership agreement. Refusal to agree to the Membership Agreement will result in a termination of membership. No funds will be returned after 30 days from application date. Business memberships are non-refundable. Club dues are determined annually by the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors.

4.

Code of Conduct

 

a.

Members are expected to not engage in behavior that might disrepute the group or could jeopardize the welfare of our children or adult members. Such behavior will be subject to disciplinary action at the discretion of the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors.
All participants in EPIC HSN activities are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct.

 

 

i.

Member families are expected to be respectful of the beliefs, lifestyles, and choices of other member families.

 

 

ii.

Aggressive behavior, physical and verbal abuse, including yelling at others, as well as offensive gestures, by members or member children will not be tolerated.

 

 

iii.

Parents are responsible for controlling their children’s behavior at all EPIC HSN activities.

 

 

iv.

For the safety and protection of the children and the host family, EPIC HSN activities are not “drop off” activities, unless specifically stated by the host.

 

 

v.

Parents are expected to supervise their children at each activity, unless previous arrangements have been made with another parent to be responsible for the children.

 

 

vi.

Adults and children are expected to be respectful of other’s property. It is the responsibility of any member to fix or replace any property that they or their children have damaged.

 

 

vii.

When attending an EPIC HSN event, the host family is not responsible for any injuries. It is the responsibility of the parents to provide for their own children’s safety.

 

 

viii.

In regard to issues of safety or protection of property only, if a host family is uncomfortable with the lack of supervision given by the parent or guardian of a child or children, then the host family should privately address the parent or guardian about their concerns. If the parent or guardian does not satisfactorily resolve the issue, then the host family may ask the offending
family to immediately leave their home.

 

 

ix.

Weapons are not to be brought to any EPIC HSN function.

 

b.

Should any dispute arise, issues should be resolved in an appropriate time, place, and manner.

 

 

i.

We encourage children to try to work out differences with each other, along with the guidance of the parents, before the issue is escalated. Our hope is that the parents will help their children learn to be respectful to one another, and resolve their differences in a positive and constructive manner. Parents should model this behavior.

 

 

ii.

It is expected that if there is a problem with a child’s behavior, that problem will be addressed privately with the parent of the child before any other action is taken.

 

 

iii.

 

If there is an issue between parents, they are expected to work through their differences privately and respectfully. No gossiping.

 

 

iv.

If a situation cannot be resolved between children or parents, then that situation should be brought to the attention of the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors.

 

c.

Consequences for noncompliance:

 

 

i.

Any excessive or vicious attack, verbal or physical, will result in immediate ejection from the current activity.

 

 

ii.

If any member or family fails to adhere to the Code of Conduct it should be brought to the attention of the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors.

 

 

iii.

 

Any issues of concern must be brought to the attention of two or more Officers at the same time, and must be documented by the Officers, or the issues of concern may be submitted in writing to the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors privately, never to the entire group.

 

 

iv.

First time offences will be reviewed by the entire EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors. If the Majority of the Officers agree that a violation has taken place, then the offending member or family will be given a written warning to adhere to the Code of Conduct signed upon joining or membership renewals, as well as any disciplinary action necessary (i.e. repair damages, apologies made).

 

 

v.

All further offences will be reviewed by the entire EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors, and if the majority agrees, then repeated or serious infractions of these guidelines may result in additional consequences as determined by the Board of Directors. Consequences may include restricting or revoking membership privileges.

 

 

vi.

All extenuating circumstances may be brought to the attention of the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors in writing before voting takes place, and they will be taken into account when deciding.

 

 

vii.

In extreme instances, the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors has the right to refuse or revoke membership without warning.

 

 

viii.

If membership is refused or revoked after 30 days of the application, membership fees will not be refunded.

5.

Committees

 

a.

The standing committees of the club shall be:

 

 

i.

Annual Award Ceremony/Graduation Committee- This is usually held the end of the school year in May/June. This committee will be responsible for coordinating the venue, decorations, the program, getting a key note speaker, and light refreshments.

 

 

ii.

Field Trips Committee- This committee will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling field trips and activities. For example: park days, swimming, running clubs or any other fun activities that you think the children might be interested in. Part of this committee’s job will also be to have the structure set for each activity. For example, if it is park day maybe come up with a few activities the kids can participate in like throwing Frisbees, bringing their bikes to ride, playing games like “Duck Duck Goose” for younger ones, “Red Rover”, etc.. For hiking plan which place to meet and what trail we will take and maybe what things we will want to try and see (certain trees, animals, etc. ).

 

 

iii.

 

Homeschool Hangout Committee- This committee will be responsible for coordinating classes and activities for our weekly Homeschool Hangout.

 

 

iv.

Yearbook Committee- An annual year book is put together and distributed during the award ceremony each year. Parents and students are able to serve on this committee.

 

 

v.

Mom’s Night Out Committee- This committee is responsible for organizing outing for just the moms/dads.

 

 

vi.

Birthday Committee- This committee is responsible for creating recognitions for birthdays of our registered members.

 

 

vii.

Homeschool Resource Fair Committee- This committee will help with the coordination and execution of the annual EPIC Homeschool Resource Fair.

 

 

viii.

Social Media Committee- This committee will help with social media management including but not limited to posting on the FB group and/or FB page, submitting posts for the Homeschool Blog.

 

b.

A representative from each family is required to serve on a committee. Committee preferences are indicated by the members, however, the final determination is made by the President of the Board of Directors.

6.

Requisition of Funds

 

a.

Requests for purchases from Committees shall be presented to the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK INC. Board of Directors and accompanied by the completed EPIC HSN Club Requisition of Funds Request Form.

 

b.

Requests for funding will be presented to the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors by a member of the Committee.

7.

Coordination and Harmony

 

a.

The EPIC HSN Club consists of the following entities.

 

 

i.

EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors – The Board of Directors is the manager through which the activities of the Club will be approved. Minutes of all Club meetings shall be made available to the Board of Directors.

 

 

ii.

Family Members – The representative of the EPIC HSN Families.

 

b.

The EPIC HSN Club must always conduct itself to promote harmony within the nonprofit corporation and club programs.

8.

Additional Terms and Conditions

 

In consideration of my acceptance of any instructional services/activities from the EPIC Homeschool Network, Inc. or any of its business partners I hereby waive, release and discharge any and all claims for damages, personal injury (whether physical, mental or emotional) or property damage which I may have, or which hereafter accrue to me, against EPIC Homeschool Network, Inc. or any of its business partners as a result of my receipt of any instructional services/activities, even though that liability may arise out of the negligence or carelessness on the part of persons or entities mentioned above. I further understand that accidents and injuries can arise out of receiving instructional services; knowing the risks, nevertheless, I hereby agree to assume those risks and to release and to hold harmless all of those persons or entities mentioned above who might otherwise be liable to me for damages or equitable relief. It is further understood and agreed that this waiver, release and assumption of risk is to be binding on my heirs and assigns.

9.

Membership Agreement Amendments

 

a.

The membership agreement amended process is started by a majority vote of the club members present at a meeting, providing such amendment request was presented in writing at the previous meeting. These amendment requests will then be presented to EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors.

 

b.

Amendment requests must be presented to the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors for approval.

 

c.

Upon approval by the EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors the agreement will be amended.

 

d.

EPIC HOMESCHOOL NETWORK, INC. Board of Directors may from time to time amend the EPIC HSN Club Membership Agreement.
