Operation Christmas Child packing party?!?!!

Ice skating 11:00 - 2:00

Packing party 1:30 - 3:30

Both are held at the ice rink.

 

The idea is for your kids to ice skate for an hour or two. During that time I will be setting up the packing party (oh yes! - help is much appreciated!) Then your kids come off the ice, they will learn a bit about the mission of Operation Christmas Child, then we go to packing boxes!!

 

The idea for the packing party is for each family to bring bulk amounts of a few specific items. We organize all of the stuff that the group as a whole brings onto long tables in the activities room at the rink, then we all grab a box and rotate around the room filling the boxes with a collection of neat items that have been brought.

Many of you are wondering what to bring.......

This is what we need:

-SCHOOL SUPPLIES

*Crayons

*notebooks (I have Thousands of these - literally - so don't bring these!)

*coloring books

*pencil sharpeners

*erasers

*Markers

-FUN STUFF

*toys - we are especially low on these items

*games

*small stuffed animals

*socks, scarves, hats

-HYGIENE Items

*toothbrushes

*soap

*hair toys - rubberbands, headbands, bows, brushes... (THESE ARE VERY POPULAR ITEMS)

*....and other things

Items we don't need or can't use:

*Notebooks - I have plenty of these

*Candy - no candy allowed this year

*Toothpaste - no toothpaste allowed this year

*weapons - pocket knives included :(

*Glass objects

*War related/scary monster stuff/ items with camo print

.....but the most important thing is YOU!!

We need lots of hands to bring gifts and pack the gifts which have already been given for this purpose. Please come join us! It is a great and meaningful time!

If you are planning to come or donate items - would you respond and let me know so I can keep a balanced list and have a good answer when others ask what is most needed.
