Additional Information

Due to the weather forecast, this event has been canceled by the organizers. Thanks to all who volunteered to help!

Hi Team! The Hanover Historical Society needs some help with their annual Community Corn Feed. This will count toward your Nighthawk service hours for the President's Volunteer Service Award. https://www.homeschool-life.com/2515/custom/54798#PVSA

The main target time window is 2:00-4:30 P.M., but if you can come 30-45 minutes early and/or stay late, that would be an extra layer of awesomeness. And yes, you can eat, too. :)

Please use the team SIGN UP below to confirm your timeslot(s) [1:15-2:00, 2:00-4:30, 4:30-5:15], and I'll pass along any additional information as it comes. Parents, team-age siblings, and alumni are also welcome to help.

Attached is a flyer describing this fun event. Bring your family.

Thanks all,
Coaches

Hello volunteers!

With a successful ice cream social event in the rear view mirror, we are now focusing on our next smaller event, the Community Corn Feed. That event will also be held at the history center. It is Sat., Aug. 28, 3-4:30 p.m. (See attached flyer.)

We need volunteers for two time periods: a group in the morning (10 a.m. or so) to shuck corn at the history center and cut up watermelon, and the majority of volunteers for the event itself. Setup for event would be 1:15 p.m. and include setting up tents, chairs and tables along with tear down afterwards, and cooking, serving corn and watermelon, and bussing tables during the event. We are planning for 150 people. This is a smaller event that is NOT a meal.

This year the Park Board is hosting its Music in the Park event the same day, but their event begins at 5 p.m. so our event could be viewed as a warm-up for their larger event. In other words, have your corn and watermelon with us, and then head over to the park for live music, kids’ activities and an ice cream truck!

Please let me know next week if at all possible if you can help us out and if that would be in the morning, for the actual event, or both. If you have a particular task you prefer, I can try to accommodate the request, otherwise I will assign tasks. Please contact me with any questions!

Thanks

Mary
