Q: |
What makes HHE unique? |
A: |
HHE is more than just a place to take classes — it’s a Christ-centered community where families grow, serve, and learn together. Our focus is on connection and service. Yes, we offer excellent classes taught by dedicated parents and teachers, but our greater purpose is to build meaningful relationships — with one another, with our children, and through the love of Christ. Because we all serve together, HHE remains both affordable and excellent. Each family contributes, whether through teaching, assisting, or helping behind the scenes, and that shared effort creates something truly special. HHE isn’t a drop-off program — it’s a place for families who want to be actively involved, invest in community, and model Christian service to their children. If you’re looking for a co-op that keeps Christ at the center, values teamwork, and fosters real friendships, you’ll feel right at home here. |

Q: |
What if I would like to not teach? |
A: |
We understand that not everyone feels confident or ready to teach, but we also know many hands make light work, so have some easy no prep classes as options as well. Our co-op thrives because each family contributes. There are many easy ways to help, even if you prefer not to lead a class:
Because we want to share the workload and prevent burnout among our teachers, priority registration is given to families willing to teach or facilitate. However, we always do our best to find a meaningful way for every parent to contribute that fits their comfort level and strengths. |
Q: |
Do I have to sign a Statement of Faith? |
A: |
Yes. HHE is a community of Christian families. Because every parent has the opportunity to teach, assist, and invest in our students, a shared faith in Jesus Christ is essential. Though many denominations are represented at HHE, a central focus on salvation through Christ alone remains the common thread. HHE is not simply hosted by Hillcrest Baptist Church—it is a ministry of the church. As such:
You may access the Statement of Faith here. |
Q: |
Why is there a mandatory orientation/interview? |
A: |
Each new family must attend an orientation/interview with the director and at least one leadership team member. This is an opportunity to learn additional details, have questions answered, and tour the building. Since each co-op is organized differently, this meeting is important so you know what you are committing to and so everyone in the co-op is on the same page. The meeting typically lasts 45 minutes. You are encouraged to bring your children. |
Q: |
Are Moms ever free or are they always helping? |
A: |
If attending all three class periods, it's possible you would be free one hour. However, those free become substitutes should any absenses hapen from assigned teachers and assistants, so occassionally would not be free. |
