Margaret Bazzoli has really appreciated her ten years of being involved as a teacher at
TEC. Although her main job is being a nurse/caregiver at a senior shared living home,
she still enjoys sharing her love for history with the girls in her American Girls class.
Margaret is married and has three daughters, the youngest having been home
My husband Mike and I have been married for 36 years. We live in North Aurora with the youngest three of our six children and our labradoodle, Bentley. Our oldest three children are grown and married and have children of their own.
All of our children were entirely homeschooled from preschool through high school, so the 2019-2020 school year will be my 29th year of homeschooling! (Our youngest daughter attends TEC.) Before we had children, I was a teacher in the East Aurora school district. I’ve also taught children’s classes at church for many years and I was the Kids Min director for 8 years.
We own Pedal & Spoke Bicycles in North Aurora, and attend MorningStar Community Church in Aurora. We were foster parents for many years and now we serve as a host home with Safe Families.
Besides teaching, I love spending time with my grandchildren, sewing, doing Pilates, and traveling with my husband.
I love being part of TEC and I’m excited about the coming school year!
Matt Gruel grew up in a small town in Indiana and holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Theory and Composition (with an emphasis in Piano) from Butler University. He owns an entertainment company calledNostalgia Entertainment which allows him to perform (piano and sing) to numerous venues throughout Chicagoland.
For the past twenty years, he has been on staff at churches as Minister of Music, where he has sung, played piano, directed and arranged music. Currently, he is the Worship Pastor at Living Hope Church in North Aurora.
He has also been seen playing piano at Tommy Guns Garage Dinner Theatre and aboard the Spirit of Chicago Cruise Lines.
He has music directed theatre productions in the area. Some of his favorites were The Spitfire Grill and Ordinary Days at Steel Beam Theatre in St. Charles along with Carrie: The Musical and Les Miserables at the School of Performing Arts in Naperville.
As a music teacher, his goal is to help his students develop a love and passion for music. To that end, his piano lessons will enable aspiring pianists to play with joy and expressiveness, with an ear to the beauty of the music. He aims to expose his students to a broad variety of pieces in order for them to appreciate the many genres of piano music available.
His hope is that no matter what path his students pursue, they will have gained a lasting enjoyment of music and an ability to play long after the lessons have ended.
