Big Dreams Bloom To All Instructors
As an elementary school teacher for two decades, and while in her favorite role as an innovation and STEM teacher, Emily realized a shift in children’s literature, bringing to light the real-life stories of brave women doing awesome things to change the world. The stories didn’t always fit into the school curriculum and the focus on female achievement within STEM seemed to be lacking. Emily knew these stories needed to be shared! She created Big Dreams Bloom with a mission to create quality, interactive group discussions and activities with a focus on STEM, geared toward young ladies. It is important to show little girls the HERstory in the history of powerful & influential women.
It began as a local after school program, but in 2020 the world changed. The need for connection was more important than ever. The program was turned into an online virtual meet up for gal pals all over the country, became a great resource for parents, and continues to grow today!
Emily wanted to create space where girls could hear the stories of these brave women who came before them and be inspired to see themselves as someone who can grow up to change the world!
She now offers after-school enrichment classes, virtual programming, weekend workshops, mentorship opportunities, summer camps, and more!
Aside from building a girls empowerment program, Emily loves to spend time with her family. She and her husband love traveling, cooking healthy foods, and keeping up with all the activities and interests of their two teenage boys. As parents, they are in the business of raising good humans.
Emily is a big fan of coffee dates with friends and all things cozy. Her ten-year-old self would have loved Big Dreams Bloom, and with that in mind each day, she loves creating something that little girls (and their parents) love and look forward to!
