Field Trip Fun!

Combining Education with Fun: 5 Reasons Why We Need Field Trips
List pulled from: The Teachers Digest & HSLDA Field Trips 101

1. A break in monotony
2. Improves learning experience
3. Improves critical and thinking skills
4. Increases learning retention rate
5. Don’t fear the field trip

Field trips can inspire your child to study a topic, give him further insights into his current studies, or provide closure to a completed unit. Is there somewhere you’d like to take your children to reinforce a topic this year? Or just want to visit because it would enrich their lives?

FCCT and HCF are not to be held liable, in any way, for field trips organized by parents and for students. Field trips are to be agreed upon by FCCT Leadership Members, but typically are organized by a parent assigned as the Field Trip Coordinator. Other needs may involve parent-chaperones. Sign ups details are posted within the FCCT Calendar.

The Field Trip Coordinator's goal is to research businesses, organizations, and in general any possibility for a "free" enriching learning experience. However, some field trips may have fees involved. In past years, field trips were scheduled on a monthly basis; in coordination with any other FCCT events.

FCCT's Field Trip Coordinator will not be responsible for organizing any pre-enrichment or post-enrichment follow ups to any field trip. This is the responsiblity of the parents. If a student was excited about a particular field trip, take some time to do research with your student. This could lead to big and exciting things!
