How much does it cost to compete in a tournament? |

The two tournaments that Invictus Fides hosts locally have tournament fees of approximately $35 for a debate student and $25 for a student competing in one speech event. Each additional speech event is $10. These prices are representative for tournaments across the country, but obviously don’t include travel expenses and hotel accommodations that may be required should you choose to attend out-of-town tournaments. Many people choose to travel to tournaments that are located near friends and family so that they have a place to stay. Tournaments will be posted on this calendar throughout the year. |

Can I just do debate and not speech (or vice verse)? |

Yes! Please visit http://stoausa.org/speech-events/ to learn more about the different events and which one(s) seem like a good fit for your student. You can find videos on YouTube of students performing in those events so that you can see what it looks like in action. Once your student knows which event they want to do, coaches will help you and your student through the process. |
