Vendor Registration (Kick-Off) - IMPORTANT CHANGES
Due to the increased safety measures that our governor has put in place, and in order to protect the health and well-being of our members, our board has made the hard decision to move our kick-off to an online option this year. At this time, I have created a private Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/groups/backtohomeschoolkickoff2020/ , where registered vendors may create a post, add a graphic, or add a picture (business card, etc.). I will approve your membership requests and posts daily. Please, only one post per vendor, unless you offer a door prize during the scheduled event time (see below).
IMPORTANT: You must register as a vendor here before your post on the Facebook page will be approved. Anyone who offers classes, tutoring, extracurricular activities, etc. to the homeschooling community in and around Hunt County is welcome to participate as a vendor. Also, any business owned by a homeschool family may register, as well those wishing to sell used curriculum during the event, but you will be limited to one post (but may add to it in your comments).
Non-vendors will not be able to create posts, but they will be able to comment on vendor posts to ask questions and get more information. Please share the group link with your friends and colleagues and let them know that it is to share the many opportunities available to current and potential homeschool families in and around Hunt County.
Door prizes are still encouraged! I will be posting a graphic advertising a special "homeschool day" at Splash Kingdom, and drawing for a Family 4-pack pass from those who comment on that graphic between 5:30p.m.-7:30p.m. the night of the originally scheduled event.
One last thing, vendors who participate in the online option will still be featured on the updated "resources" page of our website.
Thanks so much for your understanding and patience as we navigate these new waters and do our best to provide this much-needed event to the new and current homeschoolers in our community.
Homeschool CO-OPs, extra-curricular activities & clubs, private tutors, and homeschooler-owned business may rent a space at this event and spread the word about what our amazing homeschool community has to offer! Be sure to help us advertise and invite all of your current and potential homeschool friends!
-Cost for vendors is $5/table (to help pay our faciliator fee to the church). Non-profit groups that can provide non-profit status will have the fee waived for the FIRST table they reserve, but may still donate towards the church building fee if desired.
-Tables provided will be long (6-8') or large round tables. Because long tables are preferred, these will be assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis.
-Homeschool famiies wishing to sell curriculum may rent a table and will be counted as a homeschooler-owned business.
-Vendors are encouraged to provide a small activity for children at your table, so parents are free to talk and get information. This can be a small game, craft, etc.
-Vendors may donate a door prize, which will be drawn during the event. This is a great opportunity to get a little free advertising, as our announcer will credit you for the donation and refer people to your table.
-Extra curricular teachers who would like to offer a short (under 5 minutes) enetertainment pertaining to your business (dance, music, skits, etc.) may request a time. These will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis.
-Vendors unable to attend after registering need to contact the event coordinator as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in not being allowed to participate in future kick-offs.
