General questions

Q:

 How do I sign up?

A:

To join CHIEFS is easy! All you will need to do is to fill out the form located here and the agreement that is attached. This makes membership so easy for us and you. Within 48 to 72 hours someone from our leadership team will contact you to meet with you over the phone. Once we have spoken to you and approved your membership, you will have 30 days to pay the $40 membership fee (non-refundable). Our agreement has the full information for membership. Most questions can be answered in the FAQ section of this site

Q:

How do I get a school ID with CHIEFS?

A:

School IDs are issued only one time a year, and the pictures were taken on picture day every September ot October and make up day is the following month, see the calendar for the date. There is no make up date beyond the two dates. This happens annually.

Q:

Do I need to add all of my children to my profile?

A:

You need to add all of the children that will participate in CHIEFS’ events; Otherwise you will not be able to RSVP them.

Q:

How much will it cost to join?

A:

There is an annual fee of $40 per family. You have 30 days after you join to pay. You will pay again every August at the start of the new school year.

Q:

Are Parent meetings always in the evening? Do you have any parent events in the daytime?

A:

Parent meetings are always in the evening, often around 5:30-6:30 PM.  Although our fine city is a 24 hour city we find that more people are available at that time and space is more readily available at our church at that time as well.

As for parent/mom only events those can be at various times. It will change per year, feel FREE to host a couples/ Mom's night out.

Q:

My Charter school is closing/not offering my child’s grade, what next?

A:

There are several charter school options, you can google charter schools in Las Vegas to find one. Odyssey, K-12, and leadership academy are a few. For full information you’ll have to visit their websites.

If you choose to homeschool instead of enrolling in another school, CHIEFS can be a great support to you and your children. Homeschooling means you direct your child/ren's education yourself, including funding it yourself, not through a public or private school.

Co-ops

Q:

 What are co-ops?

A:

Each homeschool group co-op will look different. In general, a homeschool co-op is a group of families who meet together and work cooperatively to achieve common goals. Activities and classes that are part of our co-op are led by parents, who volunteer to teach. Everyone in the co-op will help with assisting, setting up, and cleaning at the end of the day. We work together to help our children have a fun and educational experience!

Q:

What is the cost for Co-ops?

A:

$35 per child, per term. Go to https://www.homeschool-life.com/sysfiles/member/custom/custom.cfm?memberid=2635&customid=66829 for full information.

Q:

What classes do you offer?

A:

Classes change per term and every year. Go to https://www.homeschool-life.com/sysfiles/member/custom/custom.cfm?memberid=2635&customid=66829 for full information. They fill up fast. Sign up for up to date information.

Q:

 When are co-op Sign-ups?

A:

Currently co-op sign-ups start well before the new school year begins. This may very well change as the leadership team start to feel more comfortable with the dependability of the members.

We run three teirs.  Teachers get to RSVP for co-ops and classes first. After that current members, and then if we have any new members and space for them, then the remainder spots are opened up for the new members.  So if you’re considering co-ops it is important that you become a member, as new members will always be on the third tier .
