FAQs

Q:

Is CHH a Christian Co-Op and what does that mean?

A:

CHH is defiantly a Christian Co-Op. Everything we teach has a biblical foundation. We open every morning at 8:55AM with morning prayer. We talk openly about Jesus, Creation and biblical matters. All of our teachers are required to sign a statement of faith. You can see a copy of this under publications.

Q:

How much will CHH cost?

A:

There is an annual CHH membership fee per family of $20. This fee helps towards the cost of insurance. It allows participation in parties and field trips. In addition to CHH membership we off classes on Wednesdays. Classes for Kindergarten and up begin at $10 and goes up depending on the supplies needed for the class. At this time you only pay for the 3 most expensive classes per child and everything else is free. For Pre-K classes are $25 for the semester for 9am-Noon. Nursery is available for no charge for all teachers and helpers.

Q:

When and where does CHH meet?

A:

We meet at First Baptist Church Cedar Hill on Wednesdays. We begin at 9AM and run classes until 3PM. We close down from 12-1PM for a community lunch.

Q:

What age range do you have classes for?

A:

Every semester we offer classes for Pre-K through high school. We try very hard to have at least 1 classes for each age group offered at every hour. Becasue we are a small co-op some classes may be suited for a range of ages. ie: Health was for 7-12th grade.

Q:

What do you require from the parents?

A:

We are all unpaid parents that want to help provide our children wiith the best education possible. We do require all parents to help.

If your child takes 1 class, then we ask for your to help for 1 hour a day.

If your child takes 2 classes, then we ask for you to help for 2 hours a day.

If you child takes 3 or more classes, then we ask for help for 3 hours a day.

We need help in all classrooms, nursery, pre-k, setup, clean up.

We also ask every parent signs up for a playground monitor rotation!

Q:

Can I drop my child off at CHH?

A:

If your child/children are 6th grade and older with the permission of the board you are able to drop them off. If that happens you are required to discuss with the board when you are available to help outside of co-op times such as dances, trivia, field trips, other events. If you are not available to help then you can opt out by paying an additional $50 per semester fee.

Q:

Do you require a background check?

A:

Yes, we require a passed background check on all of our parents that will be interacting in the classroom with the children.
