FAQs

Q:

What are the dates of the basketball season?

A:

Practices begin typically in November and the first games are in early December.  The JV and junior high teams are finished with their season after the third week of February, but the varsity teams continue into mid-March in order to play end-of-season tournaments.

Q:

Is my child guaranteed to play?

A:

The Blazer program's intent is to play competitive basketball, so playing time is not guaranteed.  Our first priority is to glorify God through the use of the gifts that he has given each student athlete; after that the persepective changes according to team level.
Jr High and JV team philosophy is:
2. Player development
3. Competitive play
Varsity team philosophy is:
2. Competitive play
3. Player development

Q:

Do the teams play out of town games?

A:

This depends on the team level that the student athlete is on.  The Jr High teams play almost all games against other Jr High teams in the metro area.  The JV teams play a number of local teams (under 2 hours away), but will also play a some Saturday games that are over 2 hours away. The Varisty teams will also play a number of local teams (under 2 hours away) however they have a couple more tournements that will be on Friday and Saturday with 1 possible 2 end of year tournaments that are mulitple night trips.

The goal of the organization, as much as possible, to provide the ability for families to be home on Sundays.

Q:

Are there any end of year tournaments?

A:

Yes!  The boys and girls JV and Varisty teams will play in 1 or possibly both of the Regional and National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championships.
