What does MHS offer?

A:

At MHS we provide academic courses, educational clubs, activities and support for homeschooling families in Middle Tennessee.

Q:

Is MHS an umbrella school?

A:

No, MHS is not an umbrella school. Parents or guardians are required to register to home school with their local school board or an umbrealla school to be in accordance with the law.

Q:

What does it mean to be an inclusive community?

A:

As an inclusive community we respect all religious and spiritual backgrounds. Therefore, our classes and clubs are taught from a secular perspective.

What is the goal at MHS?

A:

We strive to foster creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and problem-solving by empowering students to take ownership of their education and commit to lifelong learning.

Q:

When does MHS meet?

A:

  • We meet on Mondays and Fridays for classes & clubs for two semesters each year.
  • Each semester includes 14 Mondays & 14 Fridays in the Fall and Spring.
  • We have a Semester Showcase at the end of each semester where students showcase their work.
  • Classes and clubs are held between the hours of 8:20 AM and 2:05 PM.

Q:

What is the MHS Fees Policy?

A:

  • All MHS fees are non-refundable.
  • Annual Membership Fees: These fees pay for expenses including but not limited to rent, insurance, supplies, marketing and tax preparation.
  • Class Fees: These fees pay for expenses including but not limited to tutors, class supplies and registration fees.
  • Due to the fact that classes are contingent on meeting minimum required students, invoices will ONLY be adjusted if a class gets CANCELED.
  • Returned Check Fee: $25 - First Returned Check, $35 - Any Additional Returned Checks

What is the MHS Illness Policy?

A:

Do not bring your children to MHS if they have the following:

  • Fever over 100 within the last 24 hours
  • Colored Mucus (yellow or green snotty nose)
  • Croup Cough or Non-Stop Coughing
  • Diarrhea, vomiting or nausea
  • Rashes or ring worm
  • Head Lice
  • Administration of live virus vaccine within the past 2 weeks
  • Anything Contagious you are aware of

What is the MHS Weather Policy?

A:

MHS will follow the severe weather cancellations of Rutherford County Schools.

Q:

What is the MHS food policy?

A:

  • MHS is a nut-free organization and The Boys & Girls Club is a nut-free facility.
  • Food and drink are ONLY permitted in the Common Room at The Boys & Girls Club.

How do I get my background check to be on-site at MHS?

A:

The website to complete the fingerprinting process is https://tn.ibtfingerprint.com/

The steps to schedule your appointment on the link above are as follows:

  1. Click "Schedule a New Appointment"

  3. Choose "Child-Related Worker Volunteer (Private)"

  5. Accept the terms.
  6. Enter your zip code & choose your IdentoGO location.

  7. Click the day and time that work best for you.
  8. Complete the demographics page.
  9. Process payments.
  10. Print your confirmation page & attend your scheduled appointment.

Results will be sent to MHS directly.
