Conduct Guidelines

Conduct Guidelines

As Christians, our conduct and manner of dressing should bring honor to the Lord.  We also use or rent a number of buildings locally.  In order to be invited back, behavior will play a key role.   Please review the following guidelines with your children as well.

Respectful language to all (adults and children)                          Gossip
Respect to those in authority (parents, leaders and teachers)     Coarse language/swearing
Attentiveness to those in charge                                                   Backtalk/disrespect
Thinking of others first                                                                  Name calling/demeaning  others
Helping with whatever needs to be done                                      Physical violence

Guidelines for Appearance
Please dress wisely and modestly for KRHEST Events & Activities
Shorts and skirts of an acceptable and modest length
Necklines that are modest
Shirts that allow for comfortable movement without showing midriff
Clothing free of offensive slogans or images
No underwear showing.

Handling disagreements & difficult situations

If you are aware of an individual who is disregarding policy or you have had a disagreement or difficult situation, please pray.  You need to have a loving attitude before God before bringing any word to the person. Then, talk to the individual directly/kindly (or if it is a child, speak to the parent directly). Explain the problem.  If the problem cannot be resolved, then speak to the KRHEST Administrator for guidance.

In the case of hurt feelings, do not gossip/speak with others about an issue with another individual, work it out directly with that individual respectfully by sharing and listening.

Matthew 18:15-16 If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, but just between the two of you.  If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.  But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.

Colossians 3:12-15

KRHEST WEBSITE As a KRHEST member, you will have access to the members’ only section of the KRHEST website at www.homeshcool-life.com/286. This is your way to stay informed, connected, and involved. The calendar of events and sign-ups are all posted on this website. Click on the calendar and then the individual event to get more details.

We will not post business solicitations on the website calendar. For more information on how you may post business information see the Business Postings paragraph below. A field trip to a place of business is not the same as business solicitation. If a KRHEST Member has sought out a particular place, event, etc., and organized a Field Trip for the group to said business, it may be posted on the calendar.

Forums Forums are the ONLY source to send and receive official information regarding all KRHEST organized events and general information between all members. There is a list of Forum categories already in place. To access this list, log into the KRHEST website, click the “Forum” tab on the left hand side of the home page, choose a category listed and click once again. To post to that category, click “New Thread” and follow the steps listed to post. Please remember to ONLY post content in each category that pertains to the category title. The Forums are being monitored and disrespectful or inappropriate material will not be tolerated. Each member has the ability to decide which Forum thread categories they would like to receive or turn off the notification. However, it is not an option regarding the KRHEST Meeting and Information thread, ALL members will receive these updates as posted via email.

KRHEST Facebook Group Although not mandatory, KRHEST has a private Facebook group for contacting fellow members. This is a quick and convenient way to get in touch with each other. If you would like to be added to this group you need to "friend" either Amanda Paul or Helen Thomas and then request to be added to the KRHEST group via private message. Once added, you may unfriend them if you wish. We keep the group at "secret" status to protect members' personal info.

GENERAL RULES WHEN POSTING TO OUR GROUP:

DO post messages on:

    • Homeschooling news or related topics or educational resources

    • Info on upcoming KRHEST events/field trip/class or KRHEST business

    • Prayer requests

Please DO NOT post messages on:

    • Emotionally charged personal opinions

    • Political candidates or issues (unless they directly affect homeschooling)

    • Forwarded info that could be spam OR chain letters

    • Urban legends, myths, rumors, or virus warnings

    • Personal business info for profit (except one announcement and one reminder)

Please, do not respond to the group as a whole if you do not agree with what someone has posted. You may contact the individual directly, which is Biblical. The KRHEST website and Facebook group are not forums for debate.

Business Postings

We will not post business (for profit) related events, classes, opportunities, etc. on the KRHEST Website calendar. Allowed:

1)  An outside business may notify KRHEST, via a member, of an event or opportunity that is homeschool related and they may post the announcement one time, plus one reminder via the Classified forum.

2)  A KRHEST Member offering an opportunity, class, or event related to their business may post one announcement and one reminder directly on the Classified forum.

3) KRHEST members MAY list their own business under their Family Profile and are encouraged to do so.

Any business postings should be brief, to the point, and direct interested parties to their own business website for further details/contact information/pricing etc., versus posting all details on the KRHEST site. If there are multiple offerings from a business, the business should list all offerings in one communication. Excessive postings will not be tolerated in order to protect KRHEST members from over solicitation and to maintain the integrity of the website.  ???????

Unacceptable behavior can lead to a cancellation of KRHEST membership.
