Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra
The BSYO is comprised of students ages 6-18 who are admitted through a competitive audition process. We are committed to the training of talented young musicians by professional musicians and conductors. The students are offered the opportunity to expand their skills in classical music and to work with a peer group that has attained the same level of expertise and talent.
The BSYO has three orchestras to choose from:
- Under the direction Linda Woodrich, the String Ensemble is a training orchestra for students with some experience on their instruments and basic note-reading ability.
- Under the direction of Dr. Thomas Silliman, the Concert Orchestra is for students who are proficient on their instrument and wish to gain orchestral experience.
- The Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of guest conductors Staci Cleveland, Wayne Bresette, and Michael Garasi, is comprised of advanced students performing challenging orchestral literature.
Gateway Academy for the Arts is offering private instruction in piano, guitar, cello, violin, and voice, as well as dance classes for many levels.
Gateway Academy is located at First Baptist Church of Melbourne at 3301 Dairy Rd. in Melbourne.
