Please read the following homeschooling information as outlined by Georgia's Department of Education. This information will impact member eligibility:

1) "Georgia’s home study law (O.C.G.A. § 20-2-690) requires homeschool parents/guardians to provide a basic academic educational program which includes the five content areas below. You may also teach other content areas."

  • Mathematics

  • English Language Arts

  • Science

  • Social Studies, and

  • Reading

2) "Parents or guardians who wish to teach their children at home in a home study program must annually submit to the Georgia Department of Education a Declaration of Intent to Utilize a Home Study Program by September 1 or within 30 days after a program is established. The Georgia Department of Education will provide for electronic submittal of the Declaration of Intent."

3) "Please note that the Georgia Cyber Academy and the Georgia Connections Academy are online public charter schools and are not affiliated with the home study program. If you are interested in these schools you must contact them directly."

4) "A child must be five years old on or before September 1 to enter a public Kindergarten." (Per GA DOE's New Student Requirements) Similarly, CCH requires a family's oldest child to be five years old on or before September 1, 2021 for the family to be eligible for membership.

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

Field Trip and Activity Guidelines

In accordance with our group’s goals and God’s law, we believe that as a Christian Home School group, our field trip and activity behavior should be above reproach.  In order to carry out this goal, Christ Centered Homeschoolers has adopted the following guidelines:
  1. Each child must be accompanied by his/her parent or designated responsible adult.  Children are not to be dropped off and left unattended.
  2. Respect the activity coordinator, on-site field trip staff, and other members by being on time.
  3. Please observe the age limits set for each field trip and make necessary babysitting arrangements.
  4. Follow any guidelines set by the coordinator or on-site field trip staff.  Children are expected to be obedient and respectful to any adult in charge of the trip or activity.  Continued willful disobedience throughout the field trip will be reported first to the parent or responsible adult.  If a child continues to willfully disobey, they will be asked to leave and not participate in future activities.  “the reproofs of discipline are the way of life.”  Proverbs 6:23b
  5. Any guests must be pre-approved by the field trip or activity coordinator.
  6. Attending adults must also set an example of appropriate behavior by listening, paying attention, and not being a distraction during the event.  You are there to supervise, not to socialize.

We recommend that each parent read and be familiar with these guidelines.  Share them with your children so there is no misunderstanding.

  Membership Participation

Each member is asked to contribute during the year. In order to make this school year a great year, everyone needs to share in the work.  Responsibilities of each member include:
  • Working with a committee on a family event
  • Coordinating one field trip for the group
  • Attendance at support meetings
  • Praying for and ministering to others in the group
Statement of Faith

We Believe:
  1. The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and constitutes completed and final revelation. Nothing has been added to it and it is the only source of divine truth. The Bible is without error in whole and in part, including theological concepts as well as geographical and historical detail. (2 Timothy 3:16; Revelations 22:18-19)
  2. God has existed from all eternity in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was God come in human flesh, being fully God and fully man, except without sin. (John 1:1-18)
  3. All men are in violation of God’s righteous requirements and his holy character, both by nature and act; and are therefore under God’s wrath and judgment. The central purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ was to pay the penalty for man’s sin through his death on the cross – the successful accomplishment of which was attested to by his subsequent visible bodily resurrection. (Romans 3:10, 23; & 6:23)
  4. Salvation is offered as a gift; free to the sinner. This gift must be responded to in individual faith, not trusting in any personal works, but the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
  5. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. The husband and wife are of equal worth before God, since both are created in God’s image. All other sexual relations are forbidden. (Genesis 1:26-28; Leviticus 18:6-30)
  6. The husband is to love the wife as Christ loved the church. His responsibility is to provide for, to protect, and be the spiritual leader of the family. The wife is to submit herself to the servant leadership of her husband as the church submits to the headship of Christ. Her responsibility is to respect her husband and serve as his helper in managing the household and nurturing the next generation. Children are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to teach their children spiritual and oral values, through words and lifestyle example, to discipline in love in order to encourage choices based on Biblical truth. Children are to honor and obey their parents. (Ephesians 5:21-33; & 6:1-4)
  7. In Christian education there should be a proper balance between academic freedom and academic responsibility. As parents, we are charged to take an active roll in our children’s education, both academically and spiritually. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Proverbs 6:20)
  8. God forbids pagan practices such as witchcraft, fortune telling, casting spells, consulting with familiar spirits, interpreting omens, and contacting the dead. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12)
