FAQs

Q:

How does EHPTSA work?

A:

Eastside Homeschool PTSA is a member-run organization. That means that as a cooperative member, you have a voice in what classes, clubs, and social events you’d like to see offered here. It also means that you take responsibility for a small part of the care, maintenance, and growth of our organization. Members participate in planning meetings throughout the year, and are welcome at any time to submit requests for classes or events they would like to see offered, or to submit proposals for events or classes they would like to organize or teach.

Q:

What are the parent commitments?

A:

The commitments we ask of our members are pretty simple:
1) Be involved through volunteer activities such as assisting in the classroom, clean up, organizing socials, fundraising, etc.
2) Be respectful of other members. We serve a broad base of homeschoolers from all walks of life and homeschooling styles.
3) Be responsible for your parent jobs.

Q:

What are parent jobs?

A:

EHPTSA's Enrichment Program is run as a co-operative, and each family is required to take on a job to keep things going.  Usually, families can fulfill this requirement by helping clean and set up or do any number of on-site tasks that need doing.  This year, we will have a different set of tasks that are needed to keep the program running. These jobs could be things like sitting in on a class for several weeks as the supervising adult, helping out with a transfer of supplies from teachers to parents, working on an essential committee, or other things of that sort.

We will have a jobs coordinator who can help each family find a way that they can contribute, and will update this section as plans become more solid.

Q:

Where is EHPTSA located?

A:

Our classes will be held at East Shore Unitarian Church in the Education Building 12700 SE 32nd Street, Bellevue, WA, however due to ongoing concerns because of COVID-19, classes will be held exclusively online from September through December of 2020 when we will reaccess the situation.

Q:

Does EHPTSA offer refunds? What happens if I need to take a leave of absence? When is tuition due and how is it paid? Do you charge late fees? When are materials fees due? How do I withdraw?

A:

All of these questions are answered on our Class Policies Page found here.
