Who We Are

EAGLES Homeschool Group is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Homeschool group which seeks to support families as they educate their children at home. We believe that together is better, and we strive to create a community of unity. Whether you are new to homeschooling, a seasoned pro, or just curious about what homeschooling is all about, we would love to offer support and join you on this journey. You are not alone!

We are open to families who are homeschooling at least one child aged 5 or older as of September 1, 2022, as defined by Nevada state statute found here: NRS 388D.010-070.

Traditional homeschooling, as defined by Nevada Homeschool Network, is when a parent files a Notice of Intent to Homeschool and legally takes full responsibility to provide an education to their  child. In other words, the parent fully directs/controls the education of their child, not the government (including any form of public-school option). The parent is the teacher/principal who not only provides the education but also advances their child to the next grade level when their child is ready and issues the diploma when their child  completes their K-12 education.

Our members know that many hands make light work, so every family is asked to prayerfully consider how they can contribute to the group. Your unique gifts and talents are valuable, and we would love to have you share them with us!

In order to best serve our families, our events are categorized by age group or event type:  Elementary (ages 5-10), Tweens (ages 11-13), Teens (ages 14-18), Special Events (dances, used curriculum sale, etc), & Family Events (usually at two events per year, sometimes more)

Bringing Our Best

We are a Christian group. We are not your secular public school setting and do not desire to mirror or mimic that environment.

We are intentionally different! Here are our distinctives:

We are a Christian group. We love Jesus.

Luke 10:27 “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind…’

Membership is not restricted to only Canyon Ridge members nor Christians only BUT if you do not know Jesus, I want to make you aware now that you will become acquainted with Him among our ranks. We pray. We love Jesus & worship the one true God.

We are a Christian group. You are welcome.

Luke 10:27 (cont.) “and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

You will be met with compassion, mercy, dignity, honor and value as God’s creation. This does not mean that everyone will be best friends. This does mean that everyone will be neighborly.

We are a Christian group. We want to be like Jesus.

Galatians 5:22 “…the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

We prioritize way more than reading, writing and arithmetic! We value character. Bring your best!

We are a Christian group. We are good people, not a perfect people.

Romans 3:23. “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

We work hard and do our best. Believe the best in everyone. We make mistakes. You make mistakes. There is no place for judgment nor condemnation within the group. We are better together; with all of our individual flaws, victories and mundane days. People are the most important aspect of our organization.

We are a Christian group. We are all growing.

James 3:2 “For in many things we offend all…”

Intended or not, conflict is guaranteed when people gather. It can (and will) be civil and productive. Gossip, shaming, and bullying are not civil or productive. Conflict is handled with grace, love, and always, with the goal of reconciliation.

This is what we want to be known for:

  1. We love Jesus & worship the one true God.
  2. We are neighborly to all.
  3.  Bring your best.
  4. Believe the best in others.
  5. Conflict will be handled with grace, love, and the goal of reconciliation.

We are glad you are here and excited about the year ahead!
