What happens when you pay your $50 dues to HERE?

Why does HERE have yearly dues when many homeschool support groups are free?

Immediately $9 per year per family goes to our HERE website host, Homeschool Life. Then the remainder goes to the cost of operating our non-profit organization (PO Box, filing yearly non-profit paperwork, web domain address, etc) and securing venues for our larger events like shelters and parties.

We are a recognized 501(c)(3) organization and this has been beneficial to our membership by allowing our group to use local community facilities free of charge, accept donations that can be counted for tax exemption, and for group structure liability.
