Cooperative Classes

Q:

Are parents allowed to drop off their children for co-op or are they required to stay?

A:

No, CHESS is not a drop off co-op. We are a true cooperative in the sense that it takes everyone working together towards our common goal - educating our children. We ask that parents teach one class, and assist in two others, or assist in three classes if they do not feel led to teach. This gives each parent an hour off as well, and we do frequently have parents leading parent study groups or discussion hours related to parenting, homeschooling, or Bible studies, throughout the day.

Q:

When are the cooperative classes (Co-Op) held?

A:

Classes are held twice per academic year in the Fall semester and Spring Semester.

Q:

How much do the cooperative (Co-Op) classes cost?

A:

Co-Op Fees

The 2023-2024 Co-op Attendance Fee is:

$40 (per family) for Friday Session ONLY

$20 (per family) for Tuesday Session ONLY

$55 (per family) for Friday & Tuesday Sessions

This is separate from your CHESS Annual Dues of $40.

Family attendance and student class fees must be paid on or before the first day of class.

Payments may be made through your online portal, by check, or in person.

Additional class fees may apply depending on the class(es) your child is registered for. For instance lab fees for a science class, or materials fees for a cooking or art class.
