FAQs

What is Branch?

Q:

What is Branch Christian Academy?

A:

We are a hybrid homeschool community, meaning we meet together in person Monday-Wednesday, and complete our homeschool days on Thursday and Friday. We are not a private or charter school.

Q:

As a parent will I have to lesson plan on Thursday and Friday for the subjects taught at Branch on Monday-Thursday?

A:

No, your childs teacher will upload the assignments for Thursday and Friday into Homeschool Minder for students to complete by Monday morning. You will be responsible for any addtional subjects you choose to do outside of Branch's curriculum for the year.

Q:

Will my high schooler receive all credits needed for graduation at BCA?

A:

No they will not. We focus on the 4 core subjects of Language, Math, History and Science. There are times we are able to complete electives, but that is not always guaranteed. We highly recommend adding multiple electives yourself each of their high school years to ensure they receive all necessary credits. If you need help finding resources for electives we will be glad to assist you.

Curriculum

Q:

What curriculum is used at BCA?

A:

We choose from a variety of Christian based curriculum throughout our grades. For the 24-25 school year, K-5 will be using mainly Abeka. Grades 6-12 will use a mix of Abeka, Notgrass, Apologia, Essentials in Writing, and exclusively Teaching Textbooks for math.

Q:

Are the curriculum you use faith based?

A:

We source curriculum that uphold Christian values and morals. We do not however select curriculum based on specific denominations.
