Do you like fossils, minerals, crystals, and unusual rocks? At this event, students in grades 1-8 go to a series of stations where they collect rock specimens and learn about a variety of topics, including:

  • Pennsylvania minerals and rocks,
  • Fossils
  • Optical properties of Minerals
  • Cleavage of crystals
  • Fluorescence (glow in the dark)
  • Cabochon making
  • Sales table for children with affordable prices

And more! There will be demonstrations, games and interesting facts about rocks and minerals. Students will receive a properly labeled specimen at each station and an egg carton for their new collection. Everyone goes at their own pace to each station in the order they choose.
