Senator Doug Mastriano has graciously agreed to hold a special ZOOM lesson with HAHA! We have given him the following 6 questions:
How did he get into politics and what does he feel helped prepare him for this job?
What are his responsibilities as a senator?
How does he go about proposing or sponsoring a bill and then how does that bill ultimately become a law?
What is the best part of his job and what is the most difficult part?
Over the years, what has he learned is the best way to come to a civil compromise between two very opposing viewpoints?
What advice would he have for a young person who is contemplating getting into politics?
There will be a Q&A time at the end. We understand that children younger than 7th grade may be in the home and watching, and that is fine. Just know that the Senator’s answers will be geared towards students 7th grade and above.
NOTE: HAHA will email you the ZOOM link the day before the lesson.
