Just 60 mins from Harrisburg, Guppy Gulch is a former slate-quarry-turned-water-park that is open only to organized groups (ie not open to the public). This 15-acre freshwater reservoir boasts inflatable slides, climbing walls, a zip line, water mats, a rodeo pier, kayaks, paddleboards and jungle-gyms for kids and adults alike.
Lifejackets are a required safety measure for all water-goers and are provided free by Guppy Gulch for everyone weighing 50 lbs or more. Anyone weighing less than 50 pounds must bring their own Coast Guard approved life jacket. In addition, Guppy Gulch is fully staffed by Red Cross certified lifeguards trained in the techniques of classic flat water lifesaving, CPR and First Aid.
Guppy Gulch recommends that children be at least eight years old. Children under 8 are allowed in the park but they will be entirely their parent’s responsibility, must wear an approved life jacket and pay the full entrance fee.
Park hours are from 10-5. Gates open at 9:30am. It takes about a ½ hr to check in so PLEASE be considerate of your fellow homeschoolers and plan for ample travel time! Guppy Gulch has picnic tables and a snack shack where snacks and drinks are available for purchase. Changing rooms are available. Visitors must bring their own towel and water shoes are recommended. All visitors will need to sign a liability release. The release form may be signed online no more than 24 hours before the event or you may print out the form and bring it along. (No one is allowed in the park without a signed release form)
