The Adams Rescue Mission (ARM) is more than just a homeless shelter. It exists to proclaim the passion of Jesus to the hungry, homeless, abused, and addicted; to accelerate recovery and restoration to the least, last, lonely, and lost. They do this with a Men’s Shelter, a Women’s (& children) Shelter, a Thrift Store, Recycling and a Greenhouse.
We will tour the Men’s Shelter, visit the Thrift Store, and learn about their various programs. Then we will split up. Those under 12, and their parents, will join the staff in sorting various clothing items to be sold in the Thrift Store. Those 13 and older, and parents, will (hopefully) do volunteer work in the greenhouse getting things ready for their annual spring sale. As the greenhouse manager is currently off due to illness this is not set in stone. If the greenhouse does not work out, the mission will put us to work painting the basement. Either way, dress to get dirty.
