Generations Homeschool Group Membership Request
for 2025-2026 School Year

Generations Membership Requirements

  • All Generations members are required to comply with the North Carolina Home School laws. (See www.doa.nc.gov/divisions/non-public-education/home-schools and https://nche.com/law.)
  • Generations is a ministry of Crossroads Fellowship, and Generations members must be in agreement with Crossroads Fellowship's Statement of Faith
  • All members are expected to be participating in or actively seeking fellowship in a local church body. Generations is here to serve your homeschool support needs and is not intended to replace your connection to the body of Christ (serving, being served and growing spiritually). You are welcome to consider membership at Crossroads Fellowship. If you have any questions, please contact the Crossroads Homeschool Pastor, Mark Stroupe (mark.stroupe@crossroads.org).
  • Member families must have at least a rising first grader and either be registered with NCDNPE as an open homeschool or plan to register your homeschool upon your oldest participating student's 7th birthday. Younger siblings are also welcome.
  • Members can expect to submit to a level 3 background check, per Crossroads Fellowship's child safety policy.
  • Generations Co-op members must agree to adhere to the attendance policy of no more than 5 absences per year.
  • All members are expected to choose a service role for the school year. Either or both of the spouses may choose to do the serving. Also for certain roles, teens can serve for the family requirement. If you attend an event, you may be asked to assist in addition to your service role. Our events do not happen without you.
  • In the interest of fulfilling the Generations vision of building a strong homeschool community, it is expected of all members to participate in Generations events.
  • A non-refundable annual membership fee (see below) is payable upon Generations Co-op membership approval.
  • Memberships to NCHE (North Carolinians for Home Education) and HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association) are strongly recommended, though not required.
  • Members will refrain from speaking negatively of Generations leaders or fellow Generations members, except in love, for the purpose of healing and growth, to those who are either part of the problem or directly part of the solution.

Membership Fees

  • Membership Fees for 2025-2026 are $150/family, plus $5 per child materials fee (max. $25)
  • What does the fee cover? Your payment goes toward helping to pay for various activities and supplies throughout the year and to cover the costs associated with our website/communication platform, level 3 background check, and other admin costs. If you have a financial hardship and need assistance, please contact Treasurer4Generations@gmail.com.
  • Please note that ALL memberships are non-refundable and expire on June 30, 2026.

Student Social Agreement

As a student, I agree:

  • To be responsible by cleaning up after myself at events/activities.
  • To be honest, courteous, and patient with everyone, treating all members with kindness, respect, and Christian love.  I will try my best to have a good attitude while at Generations activities.
  • To keep my words and actions pure and good, with no cursing, name calling, picking on, making fun of others, or anything physical (hitting, shoving, etc.). There is to be no violence or threats of any kind.
  • To keep all shows of affection appropriate for the whole group (treat everyone equally), and that I will be with chaperones at all times (not going off alone with anyone).
  • To dress appropriately, including nothing too tight, too short, or too revealing (including no midriffs).
  • To stay in the areas designated when on Crossroads' campus.  I will not wander through Crossroads or be in areas I am not allowed to be in.  I will respect that other people are working and meeting at Crossroads, so I will not be a disruption to them.
  • I understand that the church is allowing us to use their facility.  I will be responsible in my conduct and treatment of the grounds.  There will be no running or being noisy in the hallways, no climbing on the furniture.  I will be polite and respectful towards any church staff I meet.  I will help Homeschoolers maintain a good reputation.
  • To listen and respond with respect to each adult in the group, whether they are speaking directly to me or the whole group.  No complaining, back-talking, or arguing with any adult.
  • I understand that if I do NOT follow these guidelines, or do not correct inappropriate behavior when asked, I could be asked to leave the activity, be suspended from the group, or be asked to leave the co-op for the remainder of the year.  My poor conduct would reflect on my family's possible future participation.
