$15 registration (includes a coffee/tea reception, soup/salad/dessert lunch, & door prizes)

How Did We Get Here?
Homeschoolers declare freedom from standardized schooling while still using it as our guide.
But, have you ever wondered why we teach what we teach - where did this trusted scope and sequence come from? Was it designed with a wonderfully-made child in mind? What if a child resists it, and why does fear keep drawing us back to it when we try a different route?
This eye-opening talk highlights the utopian beginnings of our modern school system from the mouths of those who designed it. When we understand what we’re working with, then we’re able to free ourselves without guilt from the things that don't work.

Shani recently graduated the last of her 5 children after two decades of homeschooling. Challenges along the way have given a unique perspective on the journey and what comes after. Come and be challenged (and encouraged).
