JOY Musical Theatre provides a family-friendly environment for Christian, homeschooled students to experience a musical theatre production and bring glory to God by promoting excellence in performing arts. Students will practice poise and composure by preparing and executing an audition, memorizing scripts, learning stage directions, songs, and choreography and experiencing the intensity and focus it takes to bring a show to life. They will practice team-building, and problem-solving skills, and develop friendships. Because we don't live in a Christian world, being exposed to secular material in a safe space is important for students to process, discern, and take ownership of their faith. Discussing theological implications helps to develop winsome disciples who are effectively building God's Kingdom in high school and beyond.
