Mr. Robert Petrie To All Instructors

I am a local architect and a dad of 4 with my amazing wife, Amy. While originally from Virginia, I have taught, lectured and practiced architecture, drawing and design in the Syracuse region for the last 20+ years. Utilizing my experience in practice and academics, I adapt my classes to challenge students to push beyond conventional notions of art and drawing in order for them to explore their own abilities and grow confidence in their conclusions.

I graduated from Va Tech Architecture, worked in Washington DC, and got my Masters at Cornell. I have taught at Syracuse University, Colgate University and Marywood University. I began my own practice, Petrie Design, in 2023 which has given me the flexibility to practice and offer classes at Redeeeming Thursdays on subjects that inspire me daily.
