Redeeming THURSDAYS Co–op

A place to connect, learn, and grow.

Mr. William Burak To All Instructors

I am a native son of Syracuse, NY, and am a passionate historian whose enthusiasm for humanity has encouraged many students to become passionate about their own journey through life.  Prior to teaching at Redeeming Thursdays, I retired from my second career in academics; teaching history for two years at Onondaga Community College and thirteen years as a professor of history at Columbia College's Hancock Field Campus in Syracuse, NY, home of the 174th Air National Guard.  My former career rooted in sales and service in various industries, as well as, owning and operating a swimming pool business for over forty years.

My educational background includes associates degrees in arts and applied science from OCC, a bachelor's degree in history from Columbia College, and a master's degree in history from SUNY Cortland.

I have raised six children, all of whom completed their own higher education trajectories.  I enjoy the challenge of semi-retirement by spending much time visiting historical sites and museums of all sorts.  Very happy to be part of the Redeeming Thursdays community!
