As an example, when we read the story How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World, by Marjorie Priceman, we might use the story to learn about the different countries the character travels to in the book and play a geography memory game in the area of social studies; use the story to talk about the use of repetition and humor in writing/language arts; look at the medium used and the use of complementary colors for art; practice measuring dry and liquid ingredients for math; do an experiment to see what happens when salt water is left to evaporate and talk about healthy eating choices for science; and of course eat some homemade apple pie for fun! Improv for TEENS

FUN(NY) IMPROV-THEATRE GAMES

FYI: Improv has been proven to breed good listening skills and self-confidence.

In this class the laughs come naturally as improvisational scenes, stories, and/or skits materialize. The environment encourages imagination and lots of creativity that “just happens.” Coming together in just minutes or even seconds. No scripts, no props, no "visible" settings - let alone any costumes. (Thus, no material fees!) Included in the fun are: learning many improv games, lessons in gibberish language, and brain-tingling warm-ups. All of which help dissolve unnecessary inhibitions. All in a very safe and fun environment. A full hour of creativity and imaginations at work! (Contact info: [email protected])
