History

Baldwin Christian Home Educators’ Association (formerly Baldwin County Home Educators’ Association) was established in the early 1990’s by several moms who simply wanted to get together for a monthly “Teachers’ Night Out” in order to support and encourage one another as Christians, as moms, and as fellow homeschoolers.

From those initial, intimate meetings in one another’s homes, BCHEA quickly expanded in size and scope to include activities organized by and for BCHEA members to benefit entire families in their homeschooling mission. Eventually, the organization of field trips, public speaking opportunities, family fellowships, and extracurricular classes began to occur within the membership. BCHEA has now exploded into a network of over 125 member families, including more than 280 children of all ages, who come together to bless one another by sharing our many gifts and talents via leadership and/or participation in a wide assortment of activities.
