What is Maryland Christian Cooperative (MCC)?

A:

MCC is a homeschool co-op providing enrichment and supplemental classes with a Christian focus. We cater to students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and nursery - Pre-K is available as a courtesy for members with children ages 4 and under.

Q:

How often does MCC meet, and what are the class hours?

A:

MCC meets for 24 weeks on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., September through May, with additional field trips and special events scheduled throughout the year.

Q:

How do MCC class days operate?

A:

Classes follow a structured schedule:

  • 9:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.: Announcements and Morning Prayer
  • 9:45 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.: Class 1
  • 10:45 a.m. to 11:40 a.m.: Class 2
  • 11:45 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.: Class 3
  • 12:40 p.m. to 1:35 p.m.: Lunch/Recess
  • 1:35 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Clubs
  • 2:30 p.m.: Dismissal

What does MCC expect from members?

A:

MCC expects its members to fully align with the Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct, actively engage in class participation and events, volunteer for a two-hour service requirement, and ensure that at least one parent remains on-site throughout the cooperative day to support the community.

Q:

How do we join MCC?

A:

To join MCC, families must submit a membership application, review and acknowledge the Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct, complete required waivers, and receive approval from the MCC Board of Directors.

What fees or costs are involved?

A:

Membership dues are $275 per family annually, covering expenses such as insurance, facility maintenance, and supplies. Additional class fees may apply based on specific courses and materials.
