Sunshine Community Cooperative (Deltona area) co-op is meeting in the summer! Units are for ages 5 to teens. Our summer session will last for 10 weeks.

During our 2024-2025 academic year we had 26 homeschool teens and 27 homeschoolers age 5-12 participate in our co-op! :-) Space is limited for summer so please reserve your homeschoolers spot early. The last day to register is May 30, 2025 or when we are full.

Subjects:

Teens: 

• U.S. Government (high school homeschoolers can receive 0.5 credit for this unit) 

• Art (high school homeschoolers can receive 0.5 credit for this unit) 

• Geo-Madness (geometry review (or introduction) high school homeschoolers can receive 0.5 credit for this unit)

Ages 5-11: U.S. Government, Art, Math Fun

All units are student-centered, and project based. Each week, homeschoolers begin the unit at home by completing any readings, watching any videos, etc. allowing parents to maintain their role as teachers for their homeschooler. All resources for at-home learning are provided and each family can choose to use those resources in the best way for their homeschooler. In person co-op sessions are fun, interactive, and engaging with hands-on activities, collaborative projects, immersive experiences, art projects, active game-based learning etc. based on what homeschoolers started learning at home.

We ask that each parent either agree to teach or co-teach at least one class during the year to help support the co-op and each other. This is how we keep our co-op low cost and make sure we are helping each other. 

Fee: $100 (covers supplies and materials and our space for all 10 weeks).

· Our co-op is organized by fellow homeschool parents and is not a for-profit business.

· If your homeschooler receives SUFS, you can be reimbursed for the costs of our co-op.

Dates & Times: Wednesdays from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, beginning June 11 and going through August 13.

· This is not intended to be a drop-off program. This is a community of parents working together, a traditional “cooperative.” Parents will help with activities during co-op or lead units for our homeschoolers.
