Mrs. Jessica McLain To All Instructors
Hi! My name is Jessica McLain. I am married to Brett, and we have two wonderful kids, Mason
and Annaleah, along with two fur-babies, Millie and Clara. I have many favorite Bible verses,
but I especially love Philippians 4:8 and Romans 12:2. My family enjoys going on adventures
together. You can often find us hiking, exploring, or kayaking. My friends say I am “solar
powered,” and it’s true! If it’s sunny, I’m usually outdoors.
I am excited to join Highland Academy! I hold a BA in Education and worked as a certified 6-12
grades ELA and history teacher for 13 years. I recently earned my MS in Counseling
Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy from Montreat College and completed a year-long
clinical internship, gaining valuable experience working with children, teens, adults, and
families. I am genuinely passionate about both education and therapy and am grateful for the
opportunity to do both.
I strive to create learning environments where students feel supported, curious, and confident. I
believe that when students see someone who truly enjoys learning, that enthusiasm becomes
contagious. I hope that my love of learning and teaching will inspire the same excitement and
confidence in my students throughout the semester.
