Instructors

Natalie Bennett

Natalie is an original Lighthouse Co-op kid (and is married to an original co-op kid)!  Ever since her first foggy TLC Wednesday morning in 1998, she has had a love for co-oping and home education. She now homeschools her three kids and loves nature study, leading worship at church and gardening (iced coffee in hand!)

Theresa Coburn

Theresa was also one of the early co-opers with her kids and we're so thankful to have her back.  Bible study methods and apologetics are her particular passion.

Sarah Coleman

Sarah Coleman was raised in Mexico, along with nine siblings, as a missionary kid…which explains a lot. She loves Jesus, loves family, and is passionate about homeschooling. She and her husband have raised their 10 kids in the Stanwood area for the past 21 years, enjoying the salty ocean air, the beautiful scenic views, and the great migration of the snow geese every year. She believes every child is a gift from God and is placed here for such a time as this. She loves to teach children about the goodness of God`s grace, the beauty of His creation, and how much fun learning is!

Tobin Fekkes

Tobin Fekkes is an original TLC student! and he's back to share his computer knowledge with your kids!  He is a self-taught computer geek (the new cool) and knows all the ins and outs around computer tech.

Amanda Fleig

About me:

  • I'm a follower of Jesus.
  • Mom of two boys and wife to my husband Jonathan for 11 years now.
  • I'm extroverted, organized and creative.
  • I've been a children church leader for many years and have done it all, babies-12th grade (although my sweet spot is elementary).
  • My greatest homeschooling accomplishment has been teaching my oldest to read, I'm dyslexic and failing this was my greatest fear.

I'm excited to see what God has planned for me with this new co-op adventure!

Randi Jacobsen

Randi loves children!  And all ages, as well!  Randi has been working with her cohort, Danielle Pouche', to provide a quality Wednesday morning for your littles.  She is thankful to be in this homeschool community.

Patti Justice

Patti was on the original TLC leadership team and enjoyed many years of serving on leadership in every single capacity on the Committee and also homeschooling her own kids and all of the other kids!  She could usually be found in the kitchen, whipping up deliciousness in the kitchen and sharing her passion for great food by teaching homeschool students.  We're so thankful to have her back!

Carol Pope

Carol and her husband, Ray, began their homeschooling journey with their three children back in the early 90s when homeschooling began to boom in Washington State.  It was a wonderful 20ish years, full of discovery, travel, developing an appreciation of God's grand creation, and making deep and meaningful friendships that are still going strong today.  She and her homeschooling girlfriends had the wonderful opportunity of starting the first Lighthouse Co-op in 1997 -- and now, she's back for ROUND 2!

Jessica Powers

Jessica and her husband, Tim, were both homeschooled growing up. Tim grew up on Camano Island and attended the Lighthouse co-op. Tim and Jessica met as teenagers volunteering for a Christian, non-profit organization that shares the Gospel with children. They have been married 17 years now and love homeschooling their 4 children!

Jessica enjoys being outside in nature, including walking, hiking, biking, camping, and going anywhere there is water (creeks, rivers, lakes, ocean) appreciating God’s beautiful creation! Her favorite subjects are children’s literature, inspiring missionary stories, science, and American Sign Language. Her favorite books are The Bible, The Hiding Place, and Pilgrim’s Progress. Jessica has volunteered with kids for 25 years, and her greatest passion is sharing the Good News to kids and helping them grow in their faith in the Lord.

Catherine Pulido

Catherine Pulido also known as “Cat” hails from Texas but has been on beautiful Camano Island for the last four years. She is happily married to David and has two girls, Gracie (8) and Gabriella (5). She loves Jesus, homeschooling, and traveling with her family. Catherine embraces every opportunity for fun and learning, fostering a sense of curiosity and adventure in her children.

Bobbi Samples

Bobbi Samples is a professional artist who has been teaching art to children and adults for over thirty years in the Stanwood-Camano area.

Shannon Stevenson

Shannon has lived on Camano Island for the last 8 years with her husband, Rob, and their three kids. She loves camping, hiking, and exploring the beautiful PNW with her family. Being a Chapel preschool teacher, and helping with children's ministry, she loves teaching littles about Jesus. Shannon is so excited to be a part of TLC and can’t wait to get to know all the people involved.
