SALT Graduation Ceremony:

Thank you for your interest in the SALT homeschool graduation. For more information on how your student can participate, please contact us at salthomeschoolgroup@gmail.com and we would be happy to help you! As the year's calendar is finalized a date and location for graduation will be determined. Once a date is determined a flyer with more details will be released.

Cost:

• There will be a nominal fee to cover the location rental, technical team fee and printing cost. **These fees will be divided among those graduating.
• Graduation cap, gowns and stole will be ordered from Amazon. A link will be sent out once the color has been selected by the students. **Parent will cover the cost of the graduation cap, gown and stole and will be responsible for placing their student’s individual order.
• Personalized graduation portfolios, with diploma, will also be ordered through Homeschooldiploma.com, unless otherwise decided. Price will be determined by the number of participating graduates. (regular price is $34). **The cost of the diploma will be the responsibility of the parents, an order will be placed by SALT as a group order for those that would like to order through homeschooldiploma.com

Parents:

• Parents will create a slide show of their senior to be played during the ceremony. Music may be inserted into the slide show. Parents must provide the slide show on a thumb drive by date TBD and must not exceed 3 minutes.
• Parents will place Amazon order for their graduates cap/gown/stole
• Parents to submit payment to SALT for cost of diploma (unless it was not ordered with the group through homeschooldiploma.com) and nominal church fees.
• Parents are to provide a biography of their senior for the program. Please have this emailed to salthomeschoolgroup@gmail.com or graduation coordinator by Date TBD. This short paragraph may include information about the graduate such as: family, activities, accomplishments, interests and perhaps what she/he plans for the future. Please keep the length at 50-100 words. If there are names or other words in the biography for which the announcer might need help pronouncing correctly, please include a phonetic spelling in parenthesis next to that name/word.

Here are some examples of bios:

Michael Jonathan Jones is the oldest son of Jonathan and Patricia Jones. He has been homeschooled since eighth grade and appreciates the opportunity he has had to acquire practical life and career skills. Michael enjoys paintballing, clay shooting, fishing, hunting, and off-roading with family and friends. Michael is an involved member at Troy First Baptist Church, where he serves as an audio/video technician. For his future, Michael plans to incorporate both heavy equipment operating and electrical wiring into his career, and will pursue this avenue with technical training. Ultimately Michael dreams of owning his own business.

Jennifer Katherine Smith Jennifer is the 19-year old daughter of Eric and Gina Smith. She has an older brother, John. Jennifer attended Living Word Christian School from kindergarten through eighth grade and was homeschooled her high school years. She is involved in her church youth group. She sings in the youth band, and has gone on missions trips to Kentucky the past two summers. Jennifer will be attending cosmetology school this fall and would like to open her own salon someday. She is also interested in the field of massage therapy.

Christopher Robert Johnson is the youngest child of Richard and Kristina. He is currently pursuing a mass communications major at Lindenwood University, but will be transferring to Missouri Baptist University in the fall to study religion. At the moment, he is looking at pursuing either pastoral work or Christian counseling. However, his ultimate goal is to glorify God in whatever he does, and so ultimately, he will do what the Lord leads him to do. While pursuing his scholastic studies, Christopher also plays and records his own music, and enjoys just about anything that pertains to music.

Graduates:

• Please email your color choice of graduation cap/gown to salthomeschoolgroup@gmail.com or gradation coordinator. **Stole color will be sent out once cap/gown color has been selected by majority vote.

• Email your choice for exit song to salthomeschoolgroup@gmail.com or graduation coordinator. Once submissions have been made a song will be selected for the exit song based majority vote.
• If interested in performing a music number, recite a reading as part of the ceremony, please submit these requests. All performances/speeches must be approved in advance.

Additional Information:

• SALT will print programs that will include the ceremony itinerary along with all submitted student bios.
• Tables will be provided for graduates to display memorabilia.
• Rehearsal will be scheduled prior to the graduation date and will be dependent upon the schedule of the venue where graduation is held.
