Deanna Cheatwood To All Instructors

Hi, I’m Deanna Hume-Cheatwood! I’m a long-time educator, creative professional, and homeschool mom of two (ages 15 and 13). We’ve been homeschooling for 6 years and recently moved to Washington after living in all corners of the continental U.S. as a military family. I previously taught at our co-op in Virginia for several years before joining Labryinth in the 2024/2025 school year.

Professionally, I hold a Master’s in Education with a focus in Career and Technical Education and have spent over a decade teaching middle and high school courses, including Personal Finance, Entrepreneurship, Graphic Design, and more. I also work as a multimedia specialist, helping small businesses and non-profits elevate their online presence through social media, graphics, and video content.

My teaching philosophy is student-driven—every child learns differently, and homeschool gives us the unique opportunity to nurture those individual strengths. I offer modifications and flexible approaches in all my classes to support various learning styles and abilities, and I’m passionate about creating a welcoming, inclusive space where all students can thrive. When I’m not teaching, our family loves traveling, outdoor adventures, thrifting, and treasure hunting together.
