Molly Hurd To All Instructors

I grew up on the Oregon coast, where my father was a science teacher and operated a marine science camp. I developed a deep love for the beach and all its fascinating creatures! After high school, I moved to Seattle to attend Seattle Pacific University, where I earned a BS in Biology and my secondary teaching certificate. A few years later, I completed a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, also from Seattle Pacific University.

I taught in the Federal Way School District for 12 years before stepping away to raise my two children. Homeschooling became a natural fit for our family, and we embraced it wholeheartedly! Both of my children were homeschooled through elementary school and are now thriving in their own careers. During this time, I participated in homeschool co-ops, which reignited my passion for teaching. This led me to design and teach science classes and run my own summer science camps. With over 30 years of teaching experience, education has truly remained at the heart of what I do.

I have a wonderful husband of 29 years, two adult children, and a few unique pets—including stick bugs and cockroaches! Outside of work, I’m an avid runner and love to travel.

Recently, I became a certified Life Coach for teens and a certified Wholistic Neuro Growth Learning Success Coach. I specialize in helping secondary students identify and overcome learning blocks to accelerate their learning. I also work with families to improve communication and overall wellness.
