Lauren Gaggioli To All Instructors

Hi! I'm Lauren. You may know me as Ava & Alex's mom, but may not know that I have a background as an educational entrepreneur. After graduating from high school as an AP Scholar & Full IB Diploma Recipient, I attended New York University and graduated with a B.F.A. with Honors in Theater. (Drama kids - unite!)

After graduation, I moved to L.A.. In an effort to keep my days open for auditions, I began to work evenings and weekends as an ACT & SAT tutor. Though I'd volunteered as a tutor throughout high school and college, I realized that I enjoyed teaching so much that I pivoted my career and launched Higher Scores Test Prep, an online ACT & SAT prep company. As a solopreneur, I developed 4 different curriculums, recorded and edited hundreds of videos, and learned a whole heap about website development and digital marketing along the way. I also produced 100 episodes of a 5-star rated podcast about the college admissions process called The College Checklist.

While I'm grateful for all that I learned in the digital marketing space, A.I. is shifting everything - and, in my view, not for the better. After subbing for Miss Salma this past year, I realized how much I missed teaching IRL. I'm excited to be back in an actual classroom with our incredible Labyrinth students this coming year.

My teaching style is loosely structured and highly interactive. Students can expect a lot of open-ended questions! There's a plan for each day, but there will be plenty of time for us to explore interesting threads of conversation. And, because I genuinely enjoy developing memorable lessons that really land, I will be actively tailoring the curriculum throughout the year to ensure it speaks directly to the students who are enrolled in each class.

Well, that's me in a nutshell! If you have any questions, send me an email at laurengaggioli@gmail.com. I'm here to help!
