Class Description

Using Abeka World Geography as a jumping off point, this interactive class will feature both teacher-led and student-directed content.  Besides reading, coursework will include short presentations and other written assignments with both traditional and non-traditional assessments.  Throughout the year, topics will include geography basics, map & atlas usage, biomes, habitats, all continents and countries, all of the states as well as both Texas and Tropical Town.  Because geography affects virtually every other subject, this course is a great introductory class.  Although not officially a high school class, due to the textbook being written at a 9th grade level, by following teacher suggestions, this could easily become a for-credit class.

Textbooks and Supplies:

  1. Abeka World Geography, 2nd Edition textbook or e-book format
  2. 3-ring binder

A tentative syllabus is available by request.
