Mrs. Rachel Fochtman To All Instructors

The first account of God is of him as a creator by speaking matter into exsistence and then forming man from it. As one of the art teachers here at Illuminate, I love bringing that truth into the hearts of students and reflecting that in our projects. Creating is holy, skillful, hard work. And usually a lot of fun and quite messy! 

I have been teaching here for 5 years, and we have homeschooled our four children for 11 years so far. My awesome husband Andy and I have been married for 19 years, and live in Cedar Springs. I enjoy weight training, being home, coffee, reading, and making things.  In the art world, I do private comissions, tutoring, and am studying oil paint. I absolutley love it when a student new to art learns to apply themselves and finds out they have created something they are proud of for the first time.
